3.0 out of 5 stars Nice looking cabinet but not great...
Cabinet is built strong, assembles and installs easily. Then inside shelves fit well but the little cubbys that fit inside the doors have very weak plastic tabs and were broken when opened. Called Stanley, got new ones but they were damaged and barely fit to the door. I used the cabinet to store my motorcycle helmets, fits 2 helmets on one shelf and the bottom shelf...

I purchased two of these, along with the tall standalone cabinet. I compared these with Sears' Craftsman and Gladiator units. The Stanley model was much superior to the Gladiator. Stanley's feel solid and they hang on the wall neatly and securely. Truthfully, if the cost was the same, I'd have bought the Craftsman, but the cost of these were significantly cheaper and I was able to get free shipping from Amazon (FEDEX!!!) and no sales tax, so Stanley won out. I don't regret the decision at all, and recommend these products. One word of caution, however: Most of these parts "snap together," there are few screws, except for mounting. The instructions are good and clear, but it's still easy to make a mistake and snap together a couple of parts incorrectly. And it's real difficult to unsnap them! All the parts are numbered and if you're more careful than I was, you won't have any problems assembling these cabinets!

Good value for these cabinets. Seem to be fairly well-built for a plastic cabinet. We bought several.

First cabinet took about an hour to assemble, then about 15 min. each.

One cabinet had a small defect (plastic corner had a very minor hole) and one cabinet had two tops but no bottom. Amazon is very good with returns for defective items.

This upper cupboard goes with the matching base for a good looking set, or you can hang just the uppers where you want them. It has optional feet if you want to make it a standing cabinet, although it is a bit shallow for that. You can also stack these, attached together with included adapters to make a taller cabinet. Or you can also mount this upper cabinet on the deeper base cabinet. Follow directions carefully, as it is hard to undo things put in upside down ... which is easy to do. Attach to the wall for a double tall cabinet for stability.

This offers decent mounting support that lets you position it where you want it to be and still be screwed into to studs. (There is a metal bar going across the back with lots of holes to screw into a stud without having the whole thing off center. Little support clips screw in on the underside of the cabinet to give more lift support. Too heavy for only molly/dry wall installation.

Still, it looks a bit like it is sagging off the wall, but I've had it up for two years and seems solid. The corners seem to separate slightly, but you can push it back into shape. Neat little plastic bins clip on inside the doors, but they do cut into the shelf space.

Lots of plastic peg-board hooks, tool holders, etc, to use on open peg-board cabinet sides, plus all regular metal peg board gizmos (not included) can be used too.

I have four of these already, and just ordered another one.

Great cabinet. We looked at a few others in a store & many online and bought 2 of these along with 1 of the floor units. Stanley really got it right with the directions to put them together. Everything was labeled perfectly. It did take us a few minutes longer than they said it would to put each together but not much longer. Each unit came with 2-3 little containers to hang on the inside of each door giving you more space to store stuff and they included alot of hardware, even extras. We love the look of them and would highly recommend them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product - feels a tiny bit cheap, March 8, 2011

I searched for different cabinets for my garage for a while and finally decided on these. Why? They're a good price, they look good, and they seem sturdy. After ordering and receiving 2 of them I had them built, which is a fairly simple process by the way, installed, and adjusted within 1.5 hours. Not bad.

Some things to think about:
- The hinges (dowels) and latches for the doors are plastic. They provide a couple extra pieces of each in case one breaks, but I don't see these lasting through too much time and abuse.
- The shelve supports are plastic - it looks like a good design here, so I don't expect to be snapping any shelve supports any time soon.
- The door buckets have really flimsy plastic clips that slide into holes in the doors. These will definitely break if you adjust the height or remove them a couple times. The buckets themselves can't go any lower than the recessed handle.

Other than those things, I'm happy with my purchase and they look great in the garage.

We have several of these mounted next to each other in a row. They are plastic but are very sturdy and look great. We will only be accessing them a handful of times each year so I plan on them lasting at least another 30 years. If you aren't needing something industrial strength, these will do the job for you. They are just the right size to fit a milk crate inside.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good size, but questionable construction, July 12, 2011
This review is from: Stanley Tools and Consumer Storage 716201R 16-1/4-Inch Deep Wall Cabinet (Tools & Home Improvement)
I purchased this cabinet about 2 years ago and hung it on the wall in my garage. Aside from the doors not lining up with each other exactly, only a problem of aesthetics, it has worked well up until today. I used it to store bottles of motor oil and various other garage items, nothing particularly heavy. The frame is all plastic and today the bottom broke away from the side wall. The result is that one door came crashing down and several items tumbled out. Fortunately I was not under the cabinet at the time.

The replacement will be all steel construction, not another plastic Stanley product.

The instructions included were not clear and concise but acceptable to get the cabinet together and ready for installation on a concrete block wall.
A metal strap is included that can be slipped into pockets in the back of the cabinet for mounting to wood/concrete. There are holes drilled at different intervals on the strap for different mounting centers. Leave the doors off until you get it securely mounted to your wall surface.
The (attractive)doors can be installed w/ the push/pull handles in the upward or downward positions.
The unit does not come w/any peg board hooks to be used on the sides. The bins (2) have to be mounted inside the doors and one was made a little bit off and had to be tweaked a bit to be able to mount to the door.
The cabinet is built to take a medium load, the engineering behind the unit is average. Hence the four star rating.
The price paid was $59.97 (sale) at a local Black and Decker clearance center that had just opened. The regular price was $99.97.
Base units are also available that these wall cabinets can be attached to to make a longer, more usable cabinet assembly.
The cabinet, with the exception of the doors, is made of a flat black ABS plastic that is hard to keep clean, dirt sticks to it. A smooth surface plastic finish would have been better in my opinion w/o compromising the overall look of the cabinet.
