The design/assembly was quite smartly done. However for a cabinet for the price of $188.00 i expected more user friendly shelving and sturdier shelving. The outside cabinet is fine for its use, the metal door covers spruce it up alot. But the functionality of the two front doors is not very good. They require both be opened or both closed to make them operate well (or they hang up on each other).
If this cabinet were $99.00 id have no complaints, but at 188, it does its job marginaly.

I bought this cabinet, along with two wall cabinets, after checking out Sears' Craftsman. These cabinets are sturdy, easy to assemble, and offer lots of organizational storage for the garage. I would have bought the Craftsman models, but I got this one and the two wall cabinets at a much cheaper price and FREE FEDEX shipping (and no tax) by Amazon. I think I got a good deal. One word of caution: The instructions are clear and easy to read, and the parts are all numbered. There are few screws except for mounting, as most of the pieces "snap together." If you snap a couple of pieces incorrectly, it's tough getting them to unsnap! Overall, a great addition to the garage.

These cabinets look terrific, but they have an unforgivable flaw: the shelves don't attach firmly. You really have to pound them in, and even then, they can detach if the cabinet sides bow outward even slightly. I bought 3 of these cabinets (mistake), installed them side by side, and had to jam wooden shims between the cabinets so the sides would stay straight and the shelves would hold in place.

And yes, I put the units together properly.

UPDATE Feb 2011: I'm now using "Ultra Heavy Duty Storage Cabinets" from Seville Classics. Bought 4 of them. They are sturdy, reasonable to put together, and attractive. Slightly smaller than the Stanley but so much better constructed.

at the hardware store, it looked really solid, looked like the lock was built into the door.

Well, it was difficult putting it together. the pieces for the lock didn't match. I even had 2 other people come and help me. they had to send me parts, and there was everything but what I needed.

The doors are flimsier than they look. the so called metal doors bulge out.

Would NOT recommend.

Ours did not assemble easy and is the biggest piece of junk I think I have ever bought. The shelving will not stay put...extremely frustrating. Too big to ship back or I certainly would have.

Great cabinet. We looked at a few others in a store & many online and bought this one along with 2 wall mountable cabinets. Stanley really got it right with the directions to put them together. Everything was labeled perfectly. It did take us a few minutes longer than they said it would to put each together but not much longer. Each unit came with 2-3 little containers to hang on the inside of each door giving you more space to store stuff and they included alot of hardware, even extras. We love the look of them and would highly recommend them.

The fact that this is the third Stanley storage cabinet of this model that I have purchased should say it all. The pieces are well marked, the instructions are straight forward (I unpacked it and assembled it just over an hour) and most of all, it is a great cabinet; I use it for storage in an area that is sometimes damp and not altogether varmint proof. It's sturdy enough for terra cotta pots and small tools, secure enough for lawn chemicals, and the adjustable front legs help make it stable. One thing you need to remember though; it is tall, so pay attention when they say to secure it to the wall.

I bought this because it had door storage. The doors have a definite weight limit.The peg board doors use heavy hooks which I used to to hold metal clamps. The weight of the clamps pulled the door 1/2 inch lower than the one on the other side. The cabinet is all plastic and is designed for light to moderate weight storage. It also comes in about 90 parts (mostly plastic connectors and metal screws). I would consider a second one, however it is pricey for a plastic storage unit.

Fairly logical assembly with a neat look to finished product. Two shelves broken in transit; waiting for replacement. Beware of weak track assembly in matching 3-shelf unit; might be better to buy two of these tall cabinets instead.
