5.0 out of 5 stars Daughter has one and she LOVES it!
My daughter has one of these because her husband felt it was a good thing for her to have, when her battery died and she was stuck 2 hours waiting for a tow truck. She has used it numerous times for things like pumping up a trailer tire, jump starting their riding lawnmower with it, charging up her cell phone in a power outage, and tonight we just used it again during a...

2.0 out of 5 stars Worked okay, until it went haywire
I frequently leave my headlights on all day and run down my battery, so I got one of these. It worked great a few times, but I found it was hard to turn on, the button often didn't register a 'push'. After having had it around for a few months I also realized that it turns itself on at random intervals and beeps. It is really annoying. Wish I had gotten a different one.

My daughter has one of these because her husband felt it was a good thing for her to have, when her battery died and she was stuck 2 hours waiting for a tow truck. She has used it numerous times for things like pumping up a trailer tire, jump starting their riding lawnmower with it, charging up her cell phone in a power outage, and tonight we just used it again during a five hour power outage as our main source of light. It has a 12 volt cigarette lighter style socket, a USB and wall outlet power source. We can't find anything bad to say about this little unit and I am going to buy one of these for myself when I return home. We Love this unit!!!!

Overall I like it, documentation is sparse, LCD readout is very nice, my main complaint it it does not come with a 12V adaptor so it can be charged form a car 12V outlet.

2.0 out of 5 stars Under Powered!, September 1, 2011
This review is from: Stanley DPS109 Digital Portable Power Station (Automotive)
This thing cranked a car with a dead battery once for me. After that it just did not have enough power for the job. I used it to pump up a few tires (that were soft, not flat) and now it barely does that.

Now after using it 5 or 6 times, I have it on the charger and it won't go past 11.3 volts.

This unit was a replacement for another Stanley jump box that also failed after a month. Don't waste your money on this it will let you down.

BTW, the jump box I owned previously jumped dozens of cars and lasted for several years! It was a generic unit I bought on sale for $20! I am wishing I had not left it in the back of some car I worked on.

This product does everything it says it does. We have not used all the attachments but it has charged an ipod, operated a little vac and inflated a tire. We are happy with it.

I bought two of these units about one year ago. One is still functioning. The other failed after 3 months. .500 is a good batting average if you are a baseball player but not so for consumer products. I will not buy another nor recommend the product.

I just spent the last week chasing down a short in my car, and all the while this guy was there to jump-start me whenever I needed it. I have used it to fill air mattresses and bike tires, and charge my gadgets on the road. I highly recommend getting this item or one very similar.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not powered by solar energy, May 26, 2011

If you are considering buying this unit because of what the descriptions says about solar energy "Stanley digital portable power station uses solar energy to provide up to 8 hours of home or office power." DO NOT do it. This unit DOES NOT have solar panels or cells to allow it to use solar power. The box does not say anything about solar power (nor the manual).
The Digital compressor is a nice feature but the air nozzle does not seem to be sturdy. I've only used it about five times.
The LED light is not bad but it seemed that it was depleting the battery, from the pic on the lcd display, quickly.
Have not used the other features. In the end im not that impress with it and will be considering a cheaper model with higher amps and without an lcd display now that this one does not have the solar power ability/option.

2.0 out of 5 stars Stanley DPS109 Digital Portable Power Station - Jump Starter, Compressor and Power Inverter, January 27, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Stanley DPS109 Digital Portable Power Station (Automotive)
THIS UNIT HAS ALL OF THE OPTIONS THAT A PERSON COULD WANT. THE SIZE OF THE BATTERY THAT POWERS ALL OF THESE OPTIONS IS VERY SMALL WITH MINIMUM POWER FOR THEIR USAGE. I DIDN'T PAY ATTENTION TO THE AMP OUTPUT AND WAS EXPECTING A LARGER BATTERY FOR THE PRICE OF THE PRODUCT AND SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT ONE WITH LESS OPTIONS AND A LARGER POWER SOURCE.
