Torqueplus fastening system drives off fastener body, more easily removing damaged fasteners. Reduces risk of fastener rounding. Anti-Slip Design (ASD) wrench has a locking groove prevents slippage and knuckle injury. Applies more torque to fastener.
From the Manufacturer
The box end of most Proto wrenches incorporate the TorquePlus wrenching system. The TorquePlus design is a high performance drive configuration which allows for quick and easy wrench engagement to the fastener flats, not the corners. The configuration employs a radius-corner design, shifting contact area and stresses over a large area of the wrench, minimizing slippage. The internal design of the TorquePlus minimizes fastener rounding, helps to extend fastener life, and allows the user to more easily turnworn, rounded, or rusted fasteners.

When putting rear shocks on my dakota r/t I needed a longer wrench to remove old and tighten new shock at upper shock mount on the passenger side. The exhaust sheild was in the way and a ratchet would not fit. I bought a craftsman 15 x 13 mm double box. This was long enough. I then purchased a napa long pattern wrench set that was missing the 16,17 and 19 mm wrenches. I got a gearwrench 16. I purchased this proto 17 x 19mm for the missing 17 and 19 sizes. When tightening upper shock mount the craftsman 13 x 15 flexed when I really got on it to tighten. This proto is significantly thicker then the gearwrench, napa or craftsman wrenches.I doubt this bad boy will ever flex. The box ends are taller as well. The proto is not really a double box but a offset wrench w/ 7 1/2 degrees of offset rather then the typical 45 degree offset. the proto should still reasonably fir tighten confines.Chrome finish is really nice as well. A well made but expensive wrench. But you get two sizes for the price of one.
