5.0 out of 5 stars Stanley Swivel head riveter
Having used Stanley tools my whole life and have always been pleased. The last Stanley riveter I had was nothing but a piece of ever lasting junk.
However after finding this swivel head unit on Amazon I again trusted Stanley for a quality tool and so far not disappointed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for occasional use
I bought this to add accessories to my kayaks. It works well, averaging 3 cycles to pop a rivet. With what little I've used it, ~50 rivets riveted, I've noticed a "catch" has developed in the jaw assembly requiring me to spread the handle manually towards the end of the cycle where the spring normally would. Another gripe is the clip that holds the handles shut hangs...

Having used Stanley tools my whole life and have always been pleased. The last Stanley riveter I had was nothing but a piece of ever lasting junk.
However after finding this swivel head unit on Amazon I again trusted Stanley for a quality tool and so far not disappointed.
The last one had a constant jamming problem with the rivet nail becoming stuck in the jaws that pull the nail to pop the rivet.
I tried the most difficult rivets I have, stainless and hard to pop. Popped ten and no problems at all with this latest riveter.
I would highly recommend this tool especially due to the swivel head for access to hard spots to rivet.
I would give it a five star rating due to all of it's features and solid feel of the tool.

I had to buy it because got some rivets that a borrowed riveter couldn't pull. This one made the job at first attempt, very happy with the purchase.

With what little I've used it, ~50 rivets riveted, I've noticed a "catch" has developed in the jaw assembly requiring me to spread the handle manually towards the end of the cycle where the spring normally would. Another gripe is the clip that holds the handles shut hangs down and gets in the way when you squeeze the handle to pop a rivet with no way to move it. I wouldn't recommend it for any production work, it would probably wear out pretty fast.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does a great job, August 11, 2011

I needed a good pop rivet tool that had to work fast without jamming. I had a job requiring about 25 rivets and silicone sealant and I needed to do all rivets quickly. Perfect. I threw away my Harbor Freight rivet tool which would often jam.

Great "pop riveter!" Very heavy duty, unlike the Harbor Freight riveter I bought (return 2 due to failure in the swivel head). This is one of those tools that should last a lifetime. Great price.

Tool is very well made and having the head rotate helps when access is limited. The tool should last a long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heavy duty tool, don't be tempted to get a cheapie, November 9, 2011
This review is from: Stanley MR77C Swivel Head Riveter (Tools & Home Improvement)
It's too bad there isn't a better picture at the time of this writing, Google the model number to see this tool. It's big, yellow, heavy and built to last. I seldom have to use rivets, but wanted it in my toolbox just in case. I was tempted to get a cheap $10 one from those cheapo-depot stores, but I'm glad I spent the extra couple of bucks to get this quality tool. It will last for generations; the throw-away models out there (black with red handles) are just that.
