Bought the whole set of these to replace the old wiss aviation snips. No contest here at all Wiss is the best by far. These stanley snips will do for now and they are not bad quality at all and if Wiss is too expensive for you (my current situation) then these will keep you going while you save up.

These snips do a great job at cutting wires, screens, thick plastics, basically anything you dare try to cut with scissors but wouldn't want to ruin a nice pair of house scissors on, and it will do it! I know that is the purpose of snips, but you'll have to bear with me, this is my first pair and I'm quite smitten. The mechanisms that move on the snips all work very well and fluidly, the joints are all firmly linked together. The blades themselves slide past each other perfectly even after many (what I would assume would be damaging) uses on heavy material. The ergonomics are nice, there is no strain on your hand when using these. The locking mechanism to hold the blades closed works well, once latched it holds the blades together, and when you want to open it just give it a quick squeeze and it unfastens the latch and opens the snips. I don't think there's anything I can think of I don't like about these snips, and that includes the price. I would definitely consider making this part of your tool arsenal if you don't have a good pair of snips already.
