I followed the instructions but got a VERY short duration light,

I followed the instructions to let it charge for a WHOPPING 20 hours on the first run, but despite that, all I got was 15 minutes of quickly diminishing light. The next run (...I tested it again because sometimes rechargable batteries have to be 'conditioned'), only yielded 5 additional minutes of rapidly diminishing light. And this thing is GIGANTIC. I thought it would be like their new, compact, 'yellow' 5 watt models that I've seen in the stores, but this one is about 3 times the size.

Sadly, like others here have experienced, mine wouldn't hold a charge. The factory charge masked the problem beyond the return date, but when it finally drained it was dead forever, so I tossed what was essentially a very expensive "disposable" spotlight....

Bright but two major drawbacks IMO,
This review is from: Stanley SLM09 2M Series Spotlight (Tools & Home Improvement)
OK, this light is every bit as bright as advertised. It has no issues whatsoever lighting up my back yard which is 2+ acres. I use it to find out where my dog is when he doesnt come in at night.
That said I have two concerns with the light, one of which is serious enough to make me return it 1. The light can not be continuously charged like other rechargeable lights. Per the instruction manual leving it on the charger for more than 20 consecutive hrs can result in property damage. So I have to remember to generally unplug it after 6-7 hrs of charging and hope that next time I need it the battery has been sufficiently charged to meet my needs. Why not allow it to be continuously charged and trickle charge? 2. The battery doesnt hold a charge for more than 10 minutes max, even after fully charging the unit for 10 hrs. At ~8 minutes use it gets noticibly dimmer and my 10 minutes it is done. Perhaps it's a bad battery or old. I dont know but I would think it would last much longer than that. Overlal, it's well built and I plan to trade up to tje Stanley HID3k light hoping to get more battery life.

another piece of junk from china,
This review is from: Stanley SLM09 2M Series Spotlight (Tools & Home Improvement)
Charge lasted 10 minutes then done! A full charge now last for 2+ minutes. A complete waste of your money unless you or one of your kids likes to take thing apart. To replace the battery (if you could find a replacement)you have to take it completely apart, so that all the little pieces fall out too. Buy something else!

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS LIGHT,

I bought this light for my father for Christmas and now 5 months later it will NOT hold a charge at all!
It would never run the light for more than 10 minutes from the beginning, now it makes the buld glow a faint orange and that is it! I found a replacement battery for $60. A $60 battery for a $25 light, really? I feel completely taken advantage of, I trusted the Stanley name and got my whole arm bit off!!!

Look out wild critters, there ain't no place to hide from this light. This is the best hand held light I have ever seen. My brother-in-law bought one, showed me and I won't ever be without one. Bought this one for my state trooper son.

This review is from: Stanley SLM09 2M Series Spotlight (Tools & Home Improvement)
Down right awful product. Used this fine paper wieght just one time for 20 whole minutes! Placed it to charge as instructions guide but it has never taken a charge enough to do more than make the bulb just glow. Worthless!

Bright light, but will not hold a charge. I charged per the manual, but I get only about 10 minutes of battery life. I have owned the light less than a year.
