This nailer has functioned well in every thing I have done. I was concerned about its light weight, but that has really been a plus since it is less tiring to use it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good gun for the money, April 7, 2007
This review is from: Stanley SRN175-1 1-3/4" Coil Roofing Nailer (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought the item to do one specific job and it performed well. It is very light (a real plus), depth was consistent, and it loaded quickly and easily. It took a couple falls to the ground and was rugged enough to handle the impact without damage. The only thing I can't speak to is longevity as I only did the one job, about 10sq, but I'm very satisfied so far.

1.0 out of 5 stars Junk, October 2, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

This gun only lasted for 15 minutes straight out of the box before a seal blew internally. I had to go and buy a Ridgid at Home Depot so I could finish up the job. Avoid Stanley and buy a quality tool!

5.0 out of 5 stars Stanley SRN175, August 4, 2007
This review is from: Stanley SRN175-1 1-3/4" Coil Roofing Nailer (Tools & Home Improvement)
What a great tool. Have used more expensive mod. They had nothing on this tool. Used some old coils that were in the shape of a square and still no jams. I dont know why the price is so low but I am glad I took advantage of the deal.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Bang for the Buck!, August 15, 2006
This review is from: Stanley SRN175-1 1-3/4" Coil Roofing Nailer (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought this nailer to re-roof my house...best $199 I have spent in a while. The nailer performed flawlessly except for a few times the collation was bent on the cheap generic roofing nails I bought (did not feed well)...won't do that again. For the money, I was very pleased.

1.0 out of 5 stars not professional grade, January 5, 2007

I was disappointed in the performance of the Stanley Roofing Nailer. I expected that it would be able to do what I asked which was to nail new shingles on a new roof. It didn't drive the nails in and the air pressure was 90lbs. as is normal with my other Bostich roofing guns. Turning the pressure up did not improve the performance and I had to retire the tool on the first job. I thought the Stanley brand which is associated with Bostich would mean the tool was ready for prime time. I was wrong.

5.0 out of 5 stars awesome tool, October 6, 2006
This review is from: Stanley SRN175-1 1-3/4" Coil Roofing Nailer (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is a really nice tool despite alot of negative reviews. I would use only Bostitch fasteners because they are made to be used in this tool. Some roofing nails have the wires higher up and I can see why this might be a problem. One reviewer states that the gun is easy to load and in the next sentence says it's difficult. I think these guys are putting the nails in upside down...just buy the tool

I bought this to roof my own house. It loads easily, it never miss fired, and it never jammed. Unfortunately, it only made it 16 square out of 24 and therefor it does not get 5 stars. Had to go buy $99 dollar gun at Menards to finish. Tool shop gun miss fired like crazy and was very difficult to load.
