Stanley Rocks!,
By
This review is from: Stanley - Spring Fever (DVD)
We like our kids to watch programs that teach them something and are respectful of relationships w/ people and nature. Stanley is a sweet and curious boy who learns about the animal world through his fish, Dennis and their magical book, The Great Big Book of Everything. As an adult who loves nature I even learn stuff from the Stanley shows. I only wish there were more Stanley DVD's available.

I wish this series was still on the air. Unlike much of today's programming for children, this series was warm, positive, entertaining and wonderfully informative. I, too, wish there were more Stanley DVD's.

My grandson loves Stanley, and I just wish there were more videos of Stanley I could get him. They only have 3 that I know of and I bought all 3. He watches them "all" over and over. I give it 5 stars for sure.

Bought this dvd together with Stanley-Hop to It after I purchased Stanley's Dinosaur Round-Up for my nephew as a Christmas present because he wanted the episodes as shown on Playhouse Disney instead of the movie. This dvd contains 4 episodes and mostly deals with how animals adapt to the changing seasons.
1)Searching for Spring; 2)Save the Bluebird; 3)Caterpillar Countdown; 4)Baby Pictures. Extras include a video of the theme song performed by the Baha Men and a game involving Stanley's Great Big Book of Everything. Although the video was fun, the game involving matching photos of animals in Stanley's book to names/sounds can be rather repetitive and boring (though maybe not to younger kids) |
