The elliptical stylus greatly improves frequency response, particularly at higher frequencies. This is a fantastic sounding cartridge! Even if your turntable has the standard half-inch headshell, this would be an excellent choice. It comes with the adapter you need to convert your headshell to a T4P campanile tone arm. However, the L720EE really shines when you put it on a fine P-mount turntable instead of the humdrum cartridge most of these machines came with. One outstanding attribute of the L720 is the fine reproduction of stereo. It claims a full 35 dB if separation at 1 kHz. 10 dB better than most P-mount cartridges in it's immediate price range... Over all, the sound is pleasantly warm but still gives good detail and clarity. This is a light tracking cartridge with the precision and finesse to offer a gentle touch when playing your treasures recordings. It is also built with the famous Stanton ruggedness that will insure years of faithful service. Difintely, the most cartridge for the money on the market today.
