Designed to give DJs everything they need to mix in a club environment, the Stanton Mix Pak Pro package is a good fit for up-and-comers and professionals alike. The bundle debuts with a pair of STR8-80 direct-drive turntables, each of which includes a skip-proof, straight tonearm; a reverse function; a key adjustment option; and selectable pitch adjustment of +/- 8 and 12 percent. The turntables are ideal for mixing, scratching, and battling, and as an added bonus, both include 3.5 mm line inputs for connecting portable CD players and other devices, and S/PDIF digital outputs that plug straight into a Mac or PC.

Next up in the Mix Pak Pro package is Stanton's SMX-251 three-channel mixer, which offers gain controls and three-band equalizers for each channel, making it easy to match levels and adjust the tone. The mixer, which includes three phono and three line inputs, also boasts a mic channel with a two-band equalizer and talkover, a user-replaceable cross-fader, and cue pan control for splitting the signal within the headphones.

To add to a DJ's competition chops, the package comes with two 520-SK cartridges premounted on headshells. Named the all-time best competition cartridge by DJ Craze--the three-time DMC champion--each 520-SK cartridge combines a thick-walled cantilever (allows for high tracking forces) with a grounded cartridge body that minimizes hum and ensures a top-quality sound. The cartridges also excel at a host of other applications.

Rounding out the Mix Pak Pro package is a pair of lightweight DJ Pro 80 headphones with a comfortable self-adjusting headband and exceptional low-end response. The phones offer a frequency range of 3 Hz to 28 kHz and come with a soft carrying pouch.
