Never Used: A Stanton Trading 121 1-Ounce by 1-1/2-Ounce Stainless Steel Double Jigger Review,

This review is from: Stanton Trading 121 1-Ounce by 1-1/2-Ounce Double Jigger, Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
After receiving several bar books and trying out recipes, I decided to purchase a jigger. The Stanton Trading jigger seemed reasonably priced and is the size recommended in one of the books. It was inexpensive, so I bought it.
The jigger is made of two thin stainless steel cups welded together. When it arrived I placed it into the dishwasher before use. As I was unloading the dishwasher, the jigger had some moisture on it, so I towel dried it. I wasn't drying roughly, but the cups separated. I returned the jigger for a refund and replaced it with the durable OXO Double Jigger. If you're looking for a quality double jigger, skip this one and purchase the OXO instead.

one of my pet peeves is products that have sticky glue labels that leave the glue even after you remove the label. This product has it. I rinsed in hot water, soaped it up, rinsed again, soaked it, scrubbed it with an all-surface scrub pad and the glue from the label is STILL on the jigger! Other than that, it is a functional jigger, but this really makes it something I probably will not use. You do not need gunk and dirt sticking to a patch the size of the label on the jigger!
Not recommended. (though it did stand up to some serious scrubbing) Update: I was able to remove the glue by immersing the jigger in boiling water and then scrubbing with a Dobie with dish-washing liquid on it. Some reviewers have said this was easily broken, but it held up under all of this scrubbing and rubbing, and I can now use it. However, it only gets three stars because it is WAY too much work for an inexpensive jigger! I updated to 3 stars, but would probably not buy it again.

Poorly welded shot glass,

I bought a couple of these for my campers. I tossed one in the bar box on a trip and when I got to where I was going it was in two pieces. When I looked at it there were two very tiny spot welds, that had failed. When I got home I looked at one I already had and it had four, much larger spot welds. This glass just isn't made very well. Too easy to break.

I have enjoyed my 1/2 oz. jigger for 4 years now with no problems but I wanted one with 3/4 oz. and 1 1/2 oz. options so I was excited to find this online. However, my 1/2 oz. jigger has shown no signs of rusting in 4 years but this jigger did in just two uses. I'm a little disappointed but hey, it's cheap and gets the job done.

I purchased this for my dad for Christmas. He had a jigger for years that he just recently discovered had been improperly labeled. In other words, the marked measurements where wrong. This jigger is marked correctly at 2oz and 1oz. If you're in the market for a jigger, you can't go wrong with this one.
