5.0 out of 5 stars I've been waiting for a band like this for a long time......
Ever since I became a Christian I've been waiting for a hardcore band like this. Project 86 was around and there real good, but these dudes are in another class of hardcore. There incredible. I can't wait to see them in concert. And just in case your not a Christian, don't let that stop you from buying this album. There lyrics aren't praise and worship style. They have...

1.0 out of 5 stars Music is going down the drain
Staples debut album is just terrible. It sounds like a mixture of System Of The Down & really REALLY bad KORN. I was excited to hear the cd, since I've been hearing such wonderful things about this band. I'm only glad the used store gave me $4 bucks for it. The guitars in the album are very weak and they need to have another guitar player in the band, to balance out...

I can't wait to see them in concert. And just in case your not a Christian, don't let that stop you from buying this album. There lyrics aren't praise and worship style. They have really good lyrics that make ya think. There debut album did have a few kinks in there sound, but when they released there full lengh album, all the kinks were gone. Its a incredible album and I believe its only a matter of time before these guys are in the spotlight of the hardcore music world.

5.0 out of 5 stars My New Favorite Album, March 30, 2005

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Staple (Audio CD)
Staple has just surpassed Pillar and Disciple as my new favorite Christian Rock band. Yes, the album does have a lot of yelling in it (even more if you see them in concert), but there are a lot of great messages. For instance, Deathtrap Daisy talks about the singer's struggle with lust, and he prays to God to over come his weakness. This album is filled with awesome strong rocking songs... highly recommended!

A note about the band name: I asked the guitarist after I saw them in concert what the band's name means because I didn't get it. He replied that "Staple" is in the sense of something basic (like rice is a staple food). So it is referring to how Christianity and God's word should be a staple in our lives.

5.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT listen to the ONE bad review of this album....., June 4, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Staple (Audio CD)
i cannot believe that anyone who enjoys hardcore music would trash this cd the way that Mark guy did. weak guitars??? what are you talkin about man???? have you listened to the cd for more than 5 seconds?? two words to back up that statement "Deathtrap Daisy" (track #9) which is one of the hardest songs on the cd. now, i'll admit there are 2 slower songs but they still rock out and are hard. this is definitely one of the best Christian hard rock bands i've ever heard. their lyrics are definitely challenging and deeper than your average Christian hardcore band. topics range from fighting lust to hypocrisy. a great cd for anyone who TRULY has an appreciation for the style of music.

5.0 out of 5 stars SWEET CD, August 25, 2004
This review is from: Staple (Audio CD)
Buy this CD! It's great. Staple sounds like a mix of Project 86, Pillar and East West with their originality added in as well. :P Each song has powerful guitars, vocals and lyrics that you'll want to hear again and again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Woah..., August 22, 2004
This review is from: Staple (Audio CD)
4.5/5

Highlights: Impressionable, Red Brush Strokes, Remember Sammy Jenkins, the Songwriter

"Goodbye to you and to all that we've been through/They're so beautiful...the painted skies I fly in, freely, without you"-Red Brush Strokes

This has got to be the most beautiful hardcore album I've ever heard. Some people will think that that sounds really dumb, but its really true. The vocals range from heavenly melodies to throat wrenching screams (comparable to Blindside). That really isn't all that remarkable, tons of people switch between singing and screaming, but Staple does do it remarkably well.

Some people won't like the vocals. (Not hardcore enough for some, too heavy for people like my girlfriend). Personally, I love it. The contrast is so fascinating to me.

Ok. The guitars are NOT weak, they just aren't the same cliche metal sound that we've all heard a million times. I think its great to see that these guys are striving to be original.

Overall, this is a pretty dern good album, and I will be looking to see how well they can follow up on it.

5.0 out of 5 stars holy crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, June 5, 2005
This review is from: Staple (Audio CD)
This is by far the best CD I've heard in a while. I really haven't sound anybody that I can compare them to, secular or Christian. The lyrics are great. As a Christian, I try to stay totally away from secular music and bands that don't glorify God in their lyrics. I read there lyrics on the net before I bought the CD. One of the biggest reasons I bought it was the lyrics. Then I listened to the whole CD and it really is amazing. I can't believe that this is their first album. If you are a Christian looking for a band that glorifies God, sings about things that affect the Christian life, and rocks your face off, listen to these guys and get this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Skillfull. Artistic. Professional., November 9, 2004
This review is from: Staple (Audio CD)
I think those three words sum it up pretty well. I found it difficult to believe that this was Staple's only album. The first time I heard this band was on the radio and I immediately had to hear more. This is one of those bands that debuts with such an impressive first album that you start looking around for their earlier work because you swear they couldn't be a new band. The music is both skillfully composed and played. Everything from the cover-art to the lyrics is boldly artistic. And the entire album as a whole is very professionally crafted. Five stars all the way; I haven't run across a band this impressive since Project86.
