5.0 out of 5 stars We're off to outer space......, November 17, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Star Blazers Series 1: The Quest for Iscandar (6pc) (Coll) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The year is 2199. The Gamilon Empire is bent on total domination of the Universe. Desslok, Leader of the Gamilon Empire, has sent radioactive planet bombs to Earth and within one year, Earth will be uninhabitable. An elite group of Earth Defense fighters, called the Star Force, must race against time to Iscandar and bring back the Cosmo DNA to reverse the radioactive contamination and return Earth to her former beauty. The Star Force, led by Captain Avatar must make the round trip in 365 days, or Earth will be doomed. This series is a fresh perspective on the eternal battle of good versus evil that will appeal to sci-fi fans of all ages.

5.0 out of 5 stars I can't believe it!, August 28, 1999

I can remember the school years of 77 & 78 when all I could think about was getting home in time for Star Blazers. In the days before VCRs, this was the next best thing to being able to watch Star Wars at home.

5.0 out of 5 stars "We're off in outer space. We're leaving Mother Earth....", May 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Star Blazers Series 1: The Quest for Iscandar (6pc) (Coll) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
YYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!! Talk about a kid in a candy store! This was my favorite show as a kid. Now I have the whole collection WITH the feature Films! I have to admit, that the anime is cheezy by todays standards, however I'm a Starblazers Loyatist (If there is such a thing). I am eagerly wating Yamato Resurrection (Yamato 2350 I believe). Thats gonna rock! This is one of the only series that by the end of each episode would always have an underlining theme to it: "Hurry Star Force! There are only 365 days left before Earth will become a silent planet!"

Now I just wonder if they'll release the series on DVD??? One can only hope.
