I have a teak table & chair set that is probably nearing 10 years old. I have oiled it once or twice every year and did a thorough clean with ammonia a few years ago. The ammonia removed the stains but raised the grain which then required sanding. I used the 3-step Star Brite products yesterday and am really impressed - my teak looks almost brand new. I did purchase their stainless steel scrubber to use with the cleaner product. The products cleaned and brightened my teak without raising the grain and requiring sanding. The cleaner step does require scrubbing, but nothing too strenuous. The teak oil was different than the one I'd been using and not nearly as sticky and thick. It dried quickly, I was able to use the table within a few hours of finishing. Love the results. I am buying some additional cleaner & brightener to finish up the last 2 chairs.

I do plan on keeping my table & chairs covered now, however. The sun and rain really do hasten the aging and require more frequent care.

This product is easily applied. However, it may require multiple treatments to work. Also, application needs to be followed by a metal brush in order to make the darker areas brighten up. I was not terribly impressed, even for the teak table and chairs I was trying to clean - all were in good shape and outdoors for less than a year. Too much work is necessary if multiple cleanings per year are required. According to the write-up this should not be required.

I've had teak outdoor furniture for over 20 years and for the money, it's been a terrific investment. My only issue has always been its annual cleaning. Living here in Southern California there's always the pollution factor to contend with on anything left outdoors, even if it's under an umbrella or patio cover . In the past, I've used Simple Green and been mostly pleased but decided to try this teak cleaner. In a word, WOW! It did a remarkable job and left the wood cleaner than I've seen it since it was new. I especially liked how it removed the built-up grime but didn't strip the warm patina of this exceptional wood. Between this cleaner and my power washer, I had 15 pieces of teak cleaned in about an hour and a half. A few days later I applied teak oil and fell in love with this furniture all over again.
