This toy has everything our cat needs to stay amused for hours! We got this for our cat who loves laser pens and tried to scratch everything he could find. We filled the cardboard with catnip and now he'd rather scratch the cardboard than my walls and furniture. He spends a good deal of time scratching, then getting distracted by the light ball rolling around, then trying to catch the ball, and then scratching again when he wears himself out. It's definitely worth the money!

Both of my cats love this toy. They have another one with out the sparkle ball. So we knew that they would love to scratch their paws and nails on the middle pad, but I had no idea how nuts they would go over the ball! I highly recommend this product.

Ginger has had a starchaser for over two years. He has loved this toy ever since his first experience. For all my family and friends that own cats, I have provided them with starchasers because not only does the cat have fun, but it is so much fun to watch as you will see from the video that I have provided. I am not related to or do I own any stock in the Bergan Company that make this wonderful toy. I am very happy to show you how much fun your pet can have.

Our cats LOVE this toy!!! It is honestly so boring appearing but I don't think they could live without it. The love to sit on the middle, scratch the center, and chase the ball. They NEVER tire of it. I highly recommend this toy!

I previously gave this vendor a poor review and boy was I wrong!!! I feel so terrible. I had ordered this toy for my kitties and it arrived in perfect condition. However, the ball was dead and did not light up. I contacted the seller but did not hear back from him due to some glitch in the email from Amazon.com. I thought that he did not care about me so I gave him a bad review. That very day, he sent out a new ball for my kitties which I received in one day!! Can you believe it?? I was so completely shocked that this vendor would: A. Take the time to send me a new ball and B. Email me to let me know that he did send out a new ball. I felt like such a creep because I gave him a bad review. CoolCyberCats is a terrific vendor and they have unbelievably wonderful customer service. I would definitely order from them in a heartbeat. I would give them a five star rating. PS. The kitties love the toy too!! They won't leave it alone. We hear them playing with it all night long. They think it is a racetrack for the ball!! I have a cat that I got when he was a baby and was feral (wild). I also have his brother who is feral too. His brother (Pippi) is tame now at five years old and this is because I got him when he was a bit younger plus he was very sick when his parents dropped him off on my patio and left him for me to take care of. I hand raised him and he is completely tame now and domesticated. You would never know he was feral. Even my vet is shocked. However, his brother (Buzz) who is four years old, is much more feral still and I cannot pick him up or even touch him. When he was a kitten, if I would try to pick him up, he was so scared that he would almost freak out so I would not pick him up which was my mistake. I should have handled him more but I thought that he would grow out of it. However, Buzz gets along with the other cats we have and he is best friends with his brother and knew that Pippi was his brother the minute he smelled him which is good because he had an immediate bond with another cat. Buzz also has another good friend named Nisse (which is Danish for fairy) and she takes him on trips all over the house. He used to be very shy and scared of everything but she is slowly bringing him around. Six months ago, he would never come in our bedroom, now he comes in and watches TV. He sits on the bed and watches a 65" plasma screen TV like he is at the movies. He goes on tours of the closet with her and the laundry room. It is hysterical. Anyway, he has never, ever played with a toy. This toy is his. He sleeps on top of it now. He plays with this toy constantly and loves to scratch the middle of the scratcher. I have never seen him play with a toy in four years but he plays with Nisse with the ball (she showed him how because she has another toy that the ball goes around but it is much smaller and not nearly as nice as this one) but they gave it to me when she was adopted because it was her toy. She loves this one with the lighted ball and plays with Buzz all night and most of the day. They exhaust themselves. So, if you are thinking about buying this - do not hesitate. Your cats will love it!!!!

My two cats immediately took to the Star Chaser. One was on top of it before I could completely remove the overwrap. Probably was attracted to the included cat nip. Then they discovered the light up ball and we were off to the races, so to speak.

In the weeks since it arrived, they've continued to scratch at the center and bat the ball each day. They show no signs of boredom. But as another reviewer said, avoid placing it where someone sleeps. I've gotten up and gone downstairs in the middle of the night to find one of the cats furiously batting the light-up ball around its track.

This is well worth the money. Even the pickiest of cats will go wild over this.

I ordered other cat toys from Amazon because we recently adopted a kitten as well as an older cat (3-4 years). They both have different needs, so I wasn't sure if one, both, or neither would like it. Well, they both LOVE it. The adult cat likes catnip, so we put it in the middle where the scratcher is. She loves sitting in the middle and watching the ball light up. The little one hops around and goes crazy. When he's especially rambunctious, he'll scratch the middle a bunch, then chase the ball around while batting at it. I'd definitely recommend if you have a cat/kitten with high energy. Still, it's also a nice toy for cats who are more mellow, but like to chase things.

Also, this version is less on Amazon than in pet stores. We saw this same model for $8-10 more because it had the lighted ball. I don't think the toy would be as much fun for our cats without the light, so definitely recommend going with this version.

This is truely an amazing toy for cats! My cat absolutely loves it and she goes nuts with the sparkling ball! A must for cat, worth the $$$!!!

My 5 month old kitten can't walk past it without pouncing. It keeps her entertained and out of trouble for hours. She catches air pouncing on it - its great. Highly, highly recommended.
