4.0 out of 5 stars Thankful there are two
My husband bought this item for our six-year-old son's birthday. I was reluctant to actually allow him to open them, knowing I was in for a day of Good versus Evil; but I was glad there were TWO of them! He gave one to his four-year-old brother and they have enjoyed pretending with them for a week now. They are potentially hurtful as they are made of rigid plastic, but...

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun for kids, but very basic...
My 3 year old and 7 year old like these to "duel" each other, but these lightsabers are very basic... no lights or sounds. Also, one of them seems to stick and is hard to come out and go back in all the way. Also, watch the little fingers when putting the lightsaber back in. Best to use the floor to push the lightsaber in, so fingers don't get smashed. All in all, for...

My husband bought this item for our six-year-old son's birthday. I was reluctant to actually allow him to open them, knowing I was in for a day of Good versus Evil; but I was glad there were TWO of them! He gave one to his four-year-old brother and they have enjoyed pretending with them for a week now. They are potentially hurtful as they are made of rigid plastic, but far less dangerous than the real thing. ;>) It's pretty funny to hear my son say, "Luke, I am your father" to his big brother.

These were left out in the back yard overnight, and of course it rained quite a lot that night, yet they survived intact and without any water damage whatsoever (yay for no cheap stickers that fade or peel off). They've since been in the bath tub, sand, you name it...and they endure.

I also like that there are no little pieces involved in these toys for our tiny, one-year-old Princess Leia to choke on or eat.

USE THE FORCE!

I bought these light sabers for my Star Wars crazy three year old last Christmas. After they arrived I thought maybe they weren't exciting enough so I bought another light saber with lights and sounds assuming it would be the favorite. I was wrong. These light sabers are lightweight and easy for a child to hold and swing in a vicious duel. The snazzy lights and sounds light saber has been relegated to parental use. The only argument I hear (repeated with many children as these toys are favorites with all the cousins and friends) is who gets the jedi (blue) light saber and who has to use the sith (red.) I definitely need to get more of these before either of these ones get lost.

Best to use the floor to push the lightsaber in, so fingers don't get smashed. All in all, for the price, my children enjoy these and use their imagination to have lots of fun. If you want more perks, check out the ultimate lightsaber... my son LOVES this one!

We bought several lightsabers for birthday party. For most of them, we bought the cheapest we could find ($10/ea). We decided to get a couple that were a step up (e.g., this 2 pack for $40). I was incredibly disappointed to learn that they neither light up nor make any sound. The $10 version we purchased at least lit up and they seem to be of comparable quality.

My daughter and son have a great time playing with these light-sabers. They are very simple, but sturdy. They do not light up, but I haven't heard the kids complain once. Overall, a hit in our family.

I bought 2 of these for my 3 and 4 yr. old sons. They love them and have gone to town smacking things with these sabers. None of them have broken yet!!! lol

Buyer beware. These not only don't light up but they are the same type junk you can buy at swap meet or road side vendor. Save your money and don't get stuck in the same rut that I'm in; contacting the seller, shipping back, refund mess. Telescoping cheap plastic that kids can clank together.

I was a bit let down. I thought they were the kind that light up and they are not. But, they are nice looking sabers.
