I have been a HUGE fan of Kele Moon ever since reading Defying The Odds, book #1 in the Battered Hearts series. That book is one of my favorites and I have reread it many times. I had been anxiously awaiting the release of Star Crossed, so when I was contacted by Kele to read and review an ARC copy, I could not have been more excited!! Thanks again Kele, it was my pleasure to read Star Crossed and I can't wait for Wyatt's book!!

I have been fortunate lately to read some outstanding books by some outstanding authors and it was to my great pleasure that this continued with Kele Moon and Star Crossed!! I loved everything about this book and it is exactly why my reading addiction continues to grow!! Star Crossed grabbed my attention from the beginning and held me captive until the end with an incredible heartwarming and touching story.

Romeo had me under his spell from practically his first words and I loved him and Jules together. And really, Romeo and Juliet how can you not love that!!! Romeo's brothers, Casanova and Valentino, added so much to the story and had such loving, tender, heart-wrenching, funny moments with Romeo that I was immediately drawn to them and I am hoping that they each get a book also. (hint, hint, Kele) Of course it was great to catch up with Clay and Melody and also Wyatt. Wyatt and Jules have such a great relationship--I love how their always fighting and griping at each other but because they are twins that special bond they share keeps them together. I just love Wyatt and his tortured soul, I just want to hug him!! He and Jules also have some great touching moments.

Now I can't write my review without saying something about the sex scenes. WOW......I was struck dumb with the first one--I think I might have even drooled a little, it was so HOT, STEAMY, INTENSE and SEXY. The other scene in the hotel room towards the end--WOW!!! And to my surprise and delight, Romeo is a dirty talker--love that!! LOL Kele writes some of the best sex scenes that I have read. ;)

Star Crossed was a great read that entertained me through the entire book and will definitely be a reread for me. 5 out of 5 rating. Thanks again Kele!!! Great job!! :) Read more ›

I really enjoyed Defying the Odds and was eagerly awaiting the release of the second book in the Battered Hearts, Star Crossed.

The wait was worth it because this book was every bit enjoyable as Defying the Odds, but it had something more for me and the sequel was even better.

I've been itching to get time to read this all week and once I got the chance to do that I was gone, immersed in the story and spending time with Juliet, Romeo, Jules and the gang in Garnet.

The relationship between Jules and her brother Wyatt is just wonderful and I really do love the feeling I get when reading about them. Some of the dialogue between them really does make me chuckle, but they share such a deep bond that you actually feel through the pages.

Romeo and Juliet had chemistry in spades and these two really were made for each other. They fit together perfectly...physically and emotionally. I adored them.

Kele Moon can definitely write a good sex scene that's for sure and this book lived up to expectations. These two positively sizzled between the sheets....and everywhere else, including webcam ;)

I felt so connected to Juliet this it felt like I was sat down with her in Garnet just shooting the breeze. The dialect was so well written, that for me (even being Australian) I could here their voices and accents in my head, such is Kele's talent for taking you away and immersing you in the book and characters.

This was such an enjoyable read for me and I loved every minute.

I can't wait for Wyatt's book so I can once again take a trip to Garnet.

I would absolutely have no hesitation in recommending this book

What an awesome hero! If a hero touches me and really makes me care about his happiness; if he makes me care about whether he gets what he wants, if he gets his deepest desire, then I know I'm lucky to be reading one of those heroes and romances I won't soon forget. I loved Romeo, everything about him: the big city attitude, the NYC accent, his Italian-American family, his big, hunky 6'6 fighter's body, but most of all, that wounded soul of his. For all his anger, his rough edges and his ability to lay you flat with a punch, there is such a sweetness to his character.

Yes, Romeo is that growly, bruiser alpha male I love to read, but the author wrote his character with some nice depth and with a lot of tenderness. Romeo's a bad boy, but a good bad boy. When you're reading this story, you feel the vulnerability of his character. Along with all that manly strength, there is a sweet part to Romeo that is looking for someone special, looking for and needing love: "Say it. I need to hear it," he whispered as they lay there shaking together. "Tell me you love me, Juliet." There's so many times this hero said things like that, really heartfelt things that made me love him and even tear up for him. And the times when he tells Juliet that he 'f-ing' loves her, you get that grit of who he is mixed in with the man he wants to be.

I couldn't resist Romeo. He had me wrapped right around his finger. And just as much as I loved Romeo, I loved Juliet. It's rare for me to fall for a heroine. I usually like them a little or a lot, sometimes I dislike them or think them TSTL, but with Juliet, I loved her and wanted her with Romeo. I loved that she's tough and independent, hard-working and caring. She's kick-azz, too. Gotta love a woman who packs heat and isn't afraid to use it.... And, like Romeo, Juliet has her wounded, hurt places inside as well. There is a loneliness about her, and a longing for love. I wanted these two characters to be together. I needed them to be together, and I love when I'm that caught up in characters' lives and the outcome of their happiness and their problems.

As for the sex, it was scorching hot. That shower scene alone had me clutching my kindle. And the phone sex, not to mention the video chats. Omg. I don't think Romeo could get any hotter to me. Every scene with them together, him holding her, him fisting her hair sometimes, the things he said to her, the dirty things and the sweet things, just made every scene incredibly sexy and erotic. And how can I forget them playing sensei and uke? Too, too hot. And for all that intense sexuality of both characters, because Juliet is no weak or meek woman, the author wrote every sex scene with emotion. I'm the first to admit I love a highly erotic sex scene, but I love it even more when an author shows me the love there, when she shows me the feeling and the connection between hero and heroine. I want to see that it's not only sex but something much deeper. Something special.

Star-Crossed pretty much picks up where Defying the Odds (Battered Hearts) (book 1) leaves off, and I would suggest reading that one first. Two great characters there, and I enjoyed that book but I loved Star-Crossed. I knew when I met Romeo in that book that he and Juliet would have a special story, and I was right. And as Star-Crossed is ending, we see Wyatt (Juliet's twin brother) find out some news, and I am really gasping for him to be book 3. I think Wyatt's character was really filled in here with this story, so much more there to like about him, so much there I want to know. As for the other characters in this story, I just hope they have stories one day as well. Chuito and Tino and Nova. That Nova, how I want him to have an HEA. Talk about a complicated hero.

This was a great read with an awesome and freaking hot hero, a strong heroine who gets her man, lots of secondary characters to care about, and a bullets-flying-shoot-'em-up mafia scene. But by far the best part is the sizzling, super-hot sex and that special love connection between Romeo and Juliet, two star-crossed lovers who fight to have it all. Again, a great and totally hot, sweet read going right up on my keeper shelf and a hero going right up there with my heart-throb, bad boys. Loved Romeo! Read more ›
