I got this as a gift for my teenage brother, a star wars fanatic (but not lunatic), and I am more than pleased with my purchase. The price tag might seem steep, but this is by far the best Star Wars Lightsaber replica on the market, with real heft and fine detail, though a little bulkier than the film version to house all the electronics. It looks and sounds great - with the flick of a switch it powers up, the light flowing from the base rather than coming on all at once like some of the cheaper "flashlight" versions found in your local toy store. Also, it features motion sensor sound effects, with different sounds when powered up and powered down, when idle, when swung and when it clashes with objects, like the sister who bought it for you in the first place - jerk. All kidding aside, it is very cool, but definitely for collectors, not children. It is not a toy but rather a great display piece, and a must buy for any collectible-loving Star Wars fan.

When I was younger, I always thought it would be a great idea for a company to make *realistic* replicas of movie props like Star Wars weapons. I don't get it when companies like Hasbro go out of their way to make their lightsabers look so toy-like - as long as they are safe I'm sure kids would appreciate them looking more like their movie hero's weapons.

And so there is MasterReplicas. Now, this lightsaber isn't for young kids (although they will go gaga when they seee it) - its large, heavy, made of metal. However, it is extremely realistic and durable (it will actually stand up to a good fight!). The sound effects are fantastic. Everyone who sees it thinks it is cool. I think its a great value at the price I paid on Amazon.

I bought one of these and was surprised how durrable it was, deffinately not like the ones you get from Hasbro, Rubies or any of those other inferior brands. It is extremly educational (that is if you enjoy learning how to construct one, or for learning how to duel) I will soon be getting three more so my brothers and I can have duels, also they say not to duel with them, I say as long as you are careful and don't hit people hard with them, they work for dueling, also people are going to duel anyway.

This is a great toy for fans of star wars. I would recommend it only if you have extra cash or are sure you will not get bored of it. After awhile, the hype goes away. But it still is fun to light it up once in awhile.

I bought this for my husband for christmas last year and YES he still takes it outside and acts like a child. HE LOVES it and the other adult guys love it too. Great gift for an adult guy who still thinks he's a kid!

Darth Vader is one of my all-time favorite characters and Star Wars is my favorite Movie. This Saber is AWESOME. I was surprised by how heavy the hilt is. The Blade is strong and sturdy. I love chasing my kids around the yard at night with this Saber. I am going to get my Daughter the Yoda Saber for her B-Day.

As Halloween is approaching soon, I decided to choose Darth Vader character as my costume thus the need to seach for a suitable lightsaber as my prop.

After much hesitation (thanks to all the positive 5-star reviews), finally I took the plunge to get myself a set of this Star Wars Darth Vader Force FX Red Lightsaber.

Gosh, I was holding the lighsaber in joy & very impressed with the design, built quality & the sound effect is so cool. All my friends envy me! I'm a proud owner, thanks to MR!

This thing is awesome, I got it for a friend's b-day and I really wanted to keep it after "testing" it out.

I bought two swords for kids about 2 yrs ago they hold up good and are still working fine. One even got left outside overnight and got rained on and still works perfectly. They are expensive though, but worth the money, cool to.
