5.0 out of 5 stars it's THE Higher, May 10, 2004

This review is from: Star Is Dead (Audio CD)
The Higher is a group of 5 guys from Las Vegas with an obvious passion. I bought this EP after hearing them live and I have to give them props for their sound. They had a great sound live as well as on the record. Although some of the lyrics are a bit strange, I don't really mind so much because of the great music and harmonies that accompany then in the background. Some people say Seth Trotter (lead vocals) has a kind of girlie voice, but i dont agree, I enjoy his singing style for its emotional content. If you would like more information on this group check out www.thehigher.com

5.0 out of 5 stars The first but definitely not the last!!!, April 20, 2005
This review is from: Star Is Dead (Audio CD)
This may be the bands first ep but luckily a new album is soon to follow. The lyrics are very well written and the music is amazing. I highly recommend this cd and can't wait for the release of the new album "Histrionics" in May. With quality songs like "Midnight" and "One For Hope" this is truly a band that will be around for a long time!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Band Of Young Phenoms, February 10, 2005
This review is from: Star Is Dead (Audio CD)
These guys were kids when they wrote these songs and shopped them around to get a record deal. This is a highly energetic CD, with catchy hooks, and surprisingly fine musicianship. It led Absolute Punk to label them one of the bands to watch in 2004. Well, better late than never, their label is announcing an upcoming full length called Histrionics, and they have even pre-released one of the songs. If the one pre-release is any indication of the quality of the rest, it will be safe to say that these guys are fulfilling their potential quite nicely. As a friend of theirs, let me tell you to watch for Histrionics sometime in April or May of 2005.
