Intelligent dance-oriented songs,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Star (Audio CD)
The songs on the Funky Green Dogs sophomore effort "Star" are fabulous! They have great lyrics, vocals and Progressive House music with it touch of Tribal beats to them. The hits "Body" and "I Can't Help It" are awesome as is the remainder of thr album. It's a shame FGD's second CD is so overlooked because it is soooo good! Gethtis CD, you won't be dissappointed!

The Dogs are back in town...,

Back in 1996/97, no club on earth was safe from the grooves of Miami-based progressive house trio Funky Green Dogs. Their '96 debut, 'Get Fired Up!', unleashed such dance classics as "The Way", "Until The Day", and of course "Fired Up!", which took complete control of the underground and made their label, Murk, one of dance music's hottest tickets. Fast-forward to 1999, when the threesome (joined this time by Tamara Wallace instead of Pamela Williams) dropped their sophomore effort, 'Star', into stores. Continuing the formula of mixing progressive and vocal house, 'Star' also showed the addition of shimmery '70s disco, evident in the lead single "Body" and "Keep Walking" and the gorgeous gem "Just A Little Luck". Other tracks, such as "Won't Stop Loving You", "Tomorrow", and "Discoteck" dive head on into dark, late night house that their debut was drenched in. Still, 'Star' is one of the best dance releases in years, and although mainstream isn't looking to catch onto it, the underground is greatly blessed to have the Dogs on their market.

Sadly overlooked by the masses, this LP is a great mix of house and pop. Check out "Body" and "Movin'."
