Great for babies
My six month old twins absolutely love this book! It is small enough that they can easily hold it in their hands. They love the shape that it is in and the sound that it makes. It is only black and yellow images inside the book, but they say that is good for very young infants.

Appropriate for an infant
There is no text in this book. It is appropriate for newborn infants who are stimulated by high contrast colors, and bold shapes, but an older baby probably wouldn't be too interested. The pages are yellow and black and don't include any other colors.

Little rattle may be defective,

The built-in rattle (small yellow beads) in Star may fall out. The book is intended for babies who will naturally and immediately place it directly into their mouths. Despite the fact that the book is very cute and child-sized, the beads may roll out and pose a serious hazard to your child.
