5.0 out of 5 stars Think you've heard the best?, February 16, 2001

The sound quality from this game is like none other. The vivacious melodies will stay within your head, such as the theme from which you fight Marisilo, one of the Wisemen. Or, the tranquil sounds of the Shingo Forest. All of the tracks are perfect for travel or trying to get into a state of serenity. Either way, you will be amazed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, been an avid fan for years, January 29, 2008
This review is from: Star Ocean Second Story (Audio CD)
I've owned the game this music was made for, for years now and it never gets old. The contemporary theme of it's characters is a wonderful blend of piano, woodwinds and harp gives the music it's soul and leaves you with a longing feeling for more. I love these songs.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good game with even better music., January 29, 2002

Whether you have ever played the game or not, you can appreciate the music in this albumn. Some songs are just so soothing it is seriously amazing. I would buy this entire albumn just for Theme of Rena. Like others on the cd, I found myself lost into the soothing melodies of the song, and was covered in goosebumps. Other songs that are just purely mystifying would include Silent the Universe. But, over the span of just 10 songs, the cd manages to cover both the soothing and adventerious aspects. Songs Integral Body just put you in an all around frenzy. I gave this cd a 1 star deduction because it is a bit pricey. If you have the money, there are few other game soundtracks I would recommend you buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars SO2 made infinitely cooler, October 14, 2001
This review is from: Star Ocean Second Story (Audio CD)
To be perfectly honest, I wasn't all that crazy about SO2's music. However, there were some tracks that, well, I was crazy about (Silent the Universe and Stab the Sword of Justice, for example). I love this album, though, because just about EVERY SINGLE ONE of these excellent songs is arranged here, and the orchestration is really great. It's totally different from other arranged albums that I've heard, as the pieces vary in style from gorgeous orchestral ballads to adrenalin-pumping techno and everything in between. I'd say that even if you aren't a huge fan of SO2's soundtrack, you should at least check this out. At least "Theme of Rena" and "Integral Body and Imperfect Soul", which are my two favorite tracks at the moment.
