5.0 out of 5 stars Star People
Star People is typical Brule'. This is music that you feel in your heart. Star People is energetic, heartfelt, and has the most talented musicians I have listened to. If you like other Brule' music, you're sure to love Star People.

3.0 out of 5 stars Dance-club sensibilities and a nugget of Native spirit.
Star People provides a mix of danceable pop and more reflective numbers. Anyone looking for Native American chants or lonely flutes played on windswept buffalo plains should look elsewhere. Brule is unapologetically modern in its execution, and the result is more "white middle-class" than Lakota. But the root is there -- primarily evident through aspects of the...

5.0 out of 5 stars Congratulations to Brule', September 14, 2002
This review is from: Star People (Audio CD)
Congratulations to Brule' for winning 2 Nammys for Star People! This is a terrific cd, a little less traditional, more techno-dance than One Nation and We the People, and FAR more energetic than Lakota Piano. A great pick-me-up. My favorite cd of the summer/fall.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Find, November 4, 2003

Recently my wife and I happened to catch Brule' at the Applefest celebration in Bayfield, WI. After buying a couple of their CDs on-site, we were very pleased to find their music almost a good on CD as live. You need to see them live to really appreciate their sound. I took a chance on Nicole's two CDs. I was not been disappointed. I have it on as background music at work (when I can be in my office) along with the Passion and the Night Tree CDs by Nicole. I highly recommend any of these three CDs. Prior to these CDs, I thought all Native American songs and CDs were chantings and shrill bone whistle and flute music.

Brule is unapologetically modern in its execution, and the result is more "white middle-class" than Lakota. But the root is there -- primarily evident through aspects of the flute, percussion and subtle, chant-like vocals -- and it adds a pleasant, ethnic touch to the overall sound.

4.0 out of 5 stars Provocative Mix!, May 3, 2004

An interesting mix of Native American, Dance/Techno, easy-listening, and soul. Though the synthesized flute sounds seemed to get a bit repetitive after a while, the album has a strong opener ("Star People") and some potent songs strung throughout. Not "deep" New Age, but a worthy effort nonetheless.

Wonderful blend of electronica with traditional! Nicole's flute floats and dances above Paul's fascinating keyboards.

I had the pleaure of seeing Brule at Colorado Indian Mkt in January. Wonderful. This is the first CD of theirs I bought. It's a little too techno for my husband, but I really like it. Track 14 is a beautiful piece of music.

Brule' and AIRO are by far, mesmerizing with their music. Great entertainers, both in person and with their recordings. Very soulful and heartfelt. Have all their CD's! Can't wait for more releases!!
