Purchased for my granddaughter to wear on Halloween of 2010. The product arrived in record time and is an authentic looking costume; it is also quite sturdy. I bought the smallest size, grandchild is size 6-7 but the sleeves and hemline were too generous so I had to shorten considerably. Thus, as she grows I will let the hems out and she can use the costume for many more months. The wig is pretty decent too! I did not think my grandchild would wear the wig but she loved it! When some of the hairs started to straggle I just clipped them, there is plenty of hair on this wig.

I agree with the other reviewer. We were very disappointed by the wig which is way to small to fit over any child's head and which is definitely not the same wig as in the picture--the buns are about half the size of the photo. My daughter tried it for one second and said she didn't want to be Princess Leia anymore. The dress is fine, but the wig is very deceptive.

The dress and belt are fine, but the wig is WAY too small for a child who will fit the dress.

This Princess Leia costume looks like the character and all but my 5 year old only wore it a few times and without the wig because it was itchy.

Totally fabulous! The wig did not fit my daughter but she does have a 98% head on the growth charts. We had lot's of fun with these. I bought the Luke Skywalker Jedi costume for my son in size 5 and had to shorten it with that iron on tape! Worked great!

Thankfully the previous reviews forewarned me that this costume runs a little large. I was all set to hem it for my 4 1/2 year old. Had to hem about 3 inches on the bottom and about 4 inches for the sleeves. She wouldn't wear the wig so I can't tell if it's too tight or not like others have mentioned. I did have to restitch one of the velcro pieces in the back to make it lay flat so it would catch the other side more consistently. The fabric was sturdy enough for several days of dress up and with the extra length that I can take back out this costume will service other Halloweens or dress up days.

The dress & belt: Fine, and good fit.

The wig: My complaint isn't so much that the wig is small (I don't know if there are different sizes for the wig, but the costume we bought was a size small, and my daughter is 6 years old) but more that it's flimsy. The buns came apart before she'd even worn it out of the house. I had to do a lot of pinning to keep it together. I ended up making her a headband with Leia buns attached because the wig was so uncomfortable, and I didn't think it would hold up for her school party.

The wig is extremely small, and uncomfortable. The costume runs rather large, but I just hemmed the sleeves and bottom so it was fine. Worked out great as a Halloween costume, but after the night was over my 10 year old daughter informed me she did not want to wear the costume again because of the wig. Seems a bit pricey for something she used for one night:(

This product was purchased for my daughter for Halloween. Most likely a one and done costume but it was a success.

My 8 year old daughter looked very cute in this - the wig was a tad small but we were able to secure it with hair pins.
