Once in a Blue Moon by Lori Foster
Stan Tucker has the ability to read minds. This ability is intensified during every blue moon. Stan feels as if he has been cursed, until he reads the mind of book store owner Jenna Rowan.
Jenna has some very explicit thoughts about Stan, but with two children she is wary of entering into a new relationship. Stan has been interested in Jenna since his move to Delicious six months prior, and with Jenna's thoughts opened up to him, he decides to act on his desire. While Stan is wooing Jenna, he gives careful consideration to Jenna's childrens' feelings for him and his relationship with their mother.

This is a very sensual story with very realistic characters and a mother's love.

Moon Magnetism by Lucy Monroe
Blake Hawthorne's repeated requests for a meeting with Ivy Kendall, the manager of the inn in Delicious, have all been ignored. Ivy has an intensely magnetic aura and during every blue moon electronic devices around her are completely destroyed. When Blake comes to the inn to face her in person about renovating the inn to include the most up to date technology, Ivy prepares to leave, knowing that she will wreck all of the new computers. Ivy can't convince Blake that she has these powers, even though all of his high tech tools are ruined after being near her. Ivy and Blake cannot deny that there is a sexual pull between them, but Blake still has a job to do in convincing Ivy that they are indeed compatible and need to be together.

Blake is one of those males who loves to take care of the one he loves.

Moonstruck by Dianne Castell
Julia Simon makes a wish on her way out of the courthouse in Delicious after her final divorce hearing, resulting in a humiliating situation for her no good ex-husband. PI Marc Adams, who worked with Julia in gathering evidence to make the case for her divorce, fell for Julia. Julia makes another wish for a date with Marc, followed by a wish for a night of hot sex. Both of them have their wish granted when these wishes are granted. Julia is sure that Marc's interest in her will pass with the blue moon. Marc has to convince Julia that his feelings for her are real and Julia has unintentional wishes that have her best friend headed for disaster to correct.

This is a lighthearted story with a sensual wallop. These characters are as comfortable as family and the secondary characters add a great deal to the story.

All three tales in this anthology are great fun with just a touch of fantasy and I give it a strong recommendation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious, Witty, Warm and Sensual, June 21, 2005

Star Quality for the title? Interesting! I've been fascinated on how a book is named but since this book is all about the MOON and how it affects love, romance and lives was an interesting choice for the title. However, the book was a delicious and wonderful summer read.

Once in a Blue Moon - Lori Foster; this was very hot, sensual and fun. I like the idea that a widow and divorce came together under unusual circumstances. Lori weaves a great story.

Moon Magnetism - Lucy Monroe.....can't say too much about this story. I loved the hot and handsome Blake, just like his name and Ivy, she was adorable. A witty, warm and very hot story!! Any book Lucy Monroe writes is warm and sensual.

Moonstruck - Dianne Castell - I can honestly say I've not read any of her work before and I sincerely enjoyed this story. Liked the fact of the age difference in the two main characters....the older woman and the hunk! Nicely written.

All and all, this was an excellent read, a great one for summer and the beach. All three authors tied in their stories to the town of Delicious, Ohio in an interesting way, incorporating the "moon" and it's effects on the lives of the towns people. Great, great, great!

5.0 out of 5 stars Three fabulous stories, April 16, 2005
By
Judy "book reader" (Cincinnati, ohio United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Star Quality (Paperback)
Star Quality by Lori Foster, Lucy Monroe and Dianne Castell is a wonderfully anthology. Each story weaves a delicious tale of the moons effects.

Lori Foster's Once In A Blue Moon is a hot and oh so sexy story that leaps off the page. Stan Tucker hasn't always appreciated his ability to read minds. But it goes into overdrive during a Blue Moon. He didn't think quiet, sensible bookstore owner knew he existed. Does she ever.... Jenna Rowan can't get the down and dirty thought of Stan Tucker out of her head. When Stan decides to make his move its electric. Lori Foster cranks up the heat and the love of family and friends shines on each page.

***Moon Magnetism by Lucy Monroe is a wickedly sensual story. Ivy Kendall runs the local inn and the corporate big wig Black Hawthorne is coming to visit. How can she tell him that she hasn't done the electrical upgrades? Ivy has a problem with moon magnetism. All Blake's teckie toys will stop working around her during the full moon. Lucy Monroe writes another all out sexy tale. Her characters really connect on all levels.

***Dianne Castell's Moonstruck is a laugh out loud funny and steamy story. Julia Simmons freshly divorced is suddenly having her deepest wishes coming true. Her ex takes a tumble into a fountain and the hottest PI, Marc Adams, asks her out. As they can't keep their hands off each other, is this love or the effects of that Full Moon.

***Star Quality has three breathtaking stories that are not to be missed. The light mystic qualities of each story really work in each tale.

Whimsical happenings in Delicious, Ohio during the Blue Moon will captivate readers of light paranormal romance. The blue moon occurs during the second full moon of the month, and for these three couples it turns up the heat also. Start with a man who can read your mind in Lori Foster's "Once In A Blue Moon", then in Lucy Monroe's "Moon Magnetism" meet a lady who is so magnetic she wipes out everything electronic and finally in "Moonstruck" by Dianne Castell you will meet a lady who gets every wish granted. Highly recommended reading for those who enjoy their romance hot with just a touch of the paranormal.

5.0 out of 5 stars You'll Be Moon Struck For Sure!!!, May 12, 2005
This review is from: Star Quality (Paperback)
I've said once and I'll say it again. If you are in the market for a good anthology look no further than Brava and their popular reads! This book is no different and the combined talent of Lori Foster, Lucy Monroe, and Dianne Castell will have the reader wanting to pack their bags for Delicious, Ohio and the yummy hero's that can be found there!

In Lori Foster's "Once In A Blue Moon" Gardner Stan Tucker has a problem that he has left Chicago over. When there's a full moon he can hear the thoughts of others. This is more than he can handle when sexy bookstore owner Jenna Rowan's over active mind screams her deep dark desire...for Stan. Will he be able to convince Jenna that he wants her as much if not more and that it's not the moon's magic?

Lucy Monroe's "Moon Magmetism" is the story of Ivy Kendell manager of the one inn in Delicious, Ohio. Her problems start during the full-moon as she has a rather unique affect on electronic equipment. There is no way she can work in a computer driven inn and when handsome, and sexy Blake Hawthorne shows up in order to convince her to update the inn he is taught a very important lesson in magmetism. But, he's not the only one to teach a lesson. Will he be able to convince Ivy that he wants her no matter the affect of the moon?

Dianne Castell's "Moonstruck" is the story of recently divorced Julia Simon. She has the worst luck ever and not the best taste in men. Her ex-husband cheated on her while she stayed home and was a good wife. Well, she is in the market for her luck to change and after a wish and a ritual her wish comes true in the form of Marc Adams. But will her luck change again once the Blue Moon is gone?

All three stories were wonderfully fun and sensual. There was not a stinker in the bunch. Although the stories were short they were well told and well crafted. This was the first time I've read Ms. Castell and I look forward to picking her reads up again in the future. It goes without say that Ms. Foster and Ms. Monroe can tell a story that will have you fanning yourself. I highly recommend that you pick up this book. You won't be disappointed. Only well entertained.

5.0 out of 5 stars STAR QUALITY SHINES WITH THREE SEXY, FUNNY NOVELLAS, May 13, 2005
By
This review is from: Star Quality (Paperback)
Star Quality, a Kensington Brava May release, offers a trio of novellas featuring heroes and heroines whose love lives are manipulated by a playful blue moon. Set in the fictitious small town of Delicious, Ohio, these short stories combine sensual love scenes, charming comedy, and a pinch of the paranormal for an out-of-this-world read. The hero of Lori Foster's "Once in a Blue Moon" can read people's minds whenever the moon is full. Things really heat up when he discovers a woman he burns for is having X-rated thoughts about him. The hotel manager heroine in Lucy Monroe's "Moon Magnetism" has a little problem with technology - every full moon her body becomes so magnetic she erases hard drives and kills cell phones. When her hunky boss arrives with plans to upgrade the inn with state-of-the-art equipment, she's forced to quit to avoid damaging his investment. And since she's going to be out of a job anyway, the heroine decides to indulge in the animal magnetism she experiences with her ex-boss. Dianne Castell's funny "Moonstruck" explores what happens when a newly divorced woman has the chance to make her dreams come true. Before she realizes the full moon is granting her spoken wishes, the heroine has a hard-body P.I. warm-for-her-form, a friend who's about to turn over her life savings to a jerk , and an ex-husband who is falling into fountains and snorting like a pig. Throw in a couple passionate interludes, and there's something for everyone in this wonderful novella.

Several of the heroines in this fun anthology are 40-ish, which is refreshing after the multitude of twenty-something heroines who people most romances. I visited Castell's Web site (www.diannecastell.com) and noticed she is coming out with a "Forty and Fabulous" series for Harlequin American. And I heard that Harlequin is launching a line called "Next," featuring more mature heroines. I applaud this trend and highly recommend Star Quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Three terrific authors bring us three great stories!, April 25, 2005
This review is from: Star Quality (Paperback)
Star Quality by authors Lori Foster, Lucy Monroe and Dianne Castell is a wonderfully written anthology. Each story is set in the town of Delicious, Ohio, during a blue moon and the unusual events that it causes.

In Lori Foster's Once in A Blue Moon, hunky celebrity Stan Tucker has wanted to be much more than friends with Jenna Rowan since he moved to Delicious six months earlier, but the widowed owner of The Book Nook has never indicated any interest to be anything more than friends. Stan has the ability to read minds when the moon is full, especially during a Blue Moon. Imagine his surprise when he goes into the bookstore during a Blue Moon and there are all these images in Jenna's mind about having hot sex with him! This is a wonderfully romantic story about a widow who has put her life on hold to raise her kids after the death of her husband, and a man whose ability to read minds during a full moon has caused some havoc in his life. It is very touching and well written with characters you won't soon forget.
***
In Lucy Monroe's Moon Magnetism, hotel manager Ivy Kendall has a problem. Every time there is a full moon, she becomes magnetic. Literally. She can't be around anything that is disturbed by a magnetic field without ruining it. Her boss, geeky but hot Blake Hawthorne, wants to upgrade the hotel to a computerized system. She has spent so much time avoiding these upgrades that Blake decides to come talk to her about it in person. The dialogue between these two is witty and laugh out loud funny in places. And when Blake finds out the solution to making her no longer magnetic, the two of them will solve the problem together. This is the first story I've read by Lucy Monroe. I plan to read more of this author's works in the future.
***
In Dianne Castell's Moonstruck, we meet Julia Simon, recently divorced from her no good cheating husband. As they are walking out of the courthouse, she wishes her ex-husband would fall into the town fountain--and he does! After talking with her friend about moving on, she wishes for a date with gorgeous P.I. Marc Adams to find him suddenly in front of her on the courthouse steps, asking her to dinner. Is her luck finally changing? After a series of wishes come true, Julia realizes that because of the blue moon, everything she wishes for is coming true. But will Marc still want her even when the blue moon is over? In this wonderfully charming, wickedly funny story, Dianne Castell has woven a terrific tale about the blue moon, making wishes and having your greatest wish come true. Dianne Castell is one of my must buy authors. Her wicked sense of humor and wonderful characters, all woven into such entertaining stories, have quickly made her one of my favorite authors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love and a Blue Moon -- Great Stories, April 24, 2005
By
Carolyn "A Reading Fool" (Louisville, Ky United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Star Quality (Paperback)
Star Quality is a fun and sexy anthology about what happens when there is a second full moon in one month (The Blue Moon.) These stories take place in a small town in Ohio called Delicious. ***** Once in a Blue Moon is written by Lori Foster. I always buy a story penned by Ms. Foster because I know I will love it. This Story is about Stan who can hear people's thoughts especially during the full moon called the Blue Moon. He hates the voices until he hears Jenna's thoughts. And they are about hot sheets and him. Stan has had thoughts about Jenna for a long time and now he can act on them. **** Lucy Monroe has always entertained me with her sensual stories. And Moon Magnetism is one. Ivy Kendall has a problem with the full moon. During the full moon cycle she zaps hard drives, computer chips and stops watches. So she is not happy when her boss comes to town to update the B and B she manages. Blake Hawthorne does not understand why Ivy is fighting the new technology he wants to install. When he puts his foot down Ivy gave notice to quit. Which is fine with Blake because he does not have sex with employees. And he wants Ivy.
**** Moonstuck is by Dianne Castell. Ms Castell always makes me laugh. Newly divorced Julia Simon wishes come true for real. So she wishes for a blue moon of wild and hot sex with P.I. Marc Adams. Will it last past the blue moon? This story is full of fun happenings with other wishes Julia makes. All three stories are wonderful stories of fun and passionate love that a little mystical pull of a blue moon helps along.

5.0 out of 5 stars Three Great Reads, May 4, 2005
This review is from: Star Quality (Paperback)
Star Quality is an anthology by Lori Foster, Lucy Munroe and Dianne Castell.

First up is "Once In A Blue Moon" by Lori Foster. This sensual story is about Stan Tucker who's ability to read minds is enhanced during a blue moon, and what happens when he discovers that the widow owner of the Book Nook, Jenna Rowan, is having hot x-rated thoughts of him. Jenna is a person who he has wanted to make a play for and this turn of events plays into Stan's plans as he is taken back to find out how she feels. Now Stan fully intends to act on them.

Next is "Moon Magnetism" by Lucy Munroe who pens a very sensual story indeed. Ivy Kendall is the hotel manager who has not done the upgrades that her boss, Blake Hawthorne has wanted. She has a magnetism problem around anything electronic when there is a full moon. Only when Blake arrives on the scene the magnetism between the two of them is nothing like Ivy has experienced before. Watching things heat up between the two is an enjoyable read to say the least.

Diane Castell's story "Moonstruck" rounds out this anthology. This is a heart warming, funny read about second chances, wishes coming true and real happenings between recently divorced Julia Simon and Marc Adams the P.I. Julia is only left wondering if this magnificent happening between them is just the effects of the moon or the real, lasting chemistry. Dianne has written a light, whimsical, sexy story that warms the heart.

I am sure that this book has something for everyone and the anthology has been a real pleasure to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars A sizzling, great read!, July 10, 2009
This review is from: Star Quality (Kindle Edition)
I don't usually read anthologies, but since reading this one I'm looking for more. All three stories are well-written, well-paced, with wonderful tension and sizzle. I liked Lori Foster's and Lucy Monroe's stories a little better than the last one (they were just more intense), but all three are well worth the read (and a reread - which is why I'm giving them 5 stars). Enjoy!
