I never thought I'd read fan fiction, I especially didn't think I'd read Star Trek fan fiction, for some reason I had mental images of awful writing, poor characterizations, boring plots, and God Forbid, Trek sex. I was wrong, and delighted to be so! ST:The New Voyages is a great read, 8 very entertaining family safe stories and a poem. Each story has an introduction by a cast member, and some of these are also a fun read - Especially Takai's and Deforest Kelly's. Being written before the Motion Picture they feel like episodes of the tv show. These are great if you love the Original StarTrek.I'm so glad I got a copy, I turned the last page, and I felt happy and uplifted. That's unusual for me, I often suffer post book depression, But not this time! I'm an old series lover, if you are too, then this is certainly one you'd Have to have in your library. Oh, and here's a PLUG, if you enjoy the original series you might also check out [...] It's a lot of fun too. |
