Great game. I just couldn't finish the game. The battle in space just seems impossible to finish.

Star Trek Classic Game, January 20, 2003
This review is from: Star Trek 25th Anniversary (CD-ROM)
This game is very bare bones, but it's great fun. I found this old color Macintosh PowerBook Duo 270c by the freight elevator at work. You can't do 3D or video editing on it, but it works great for playing old Macintosh games like Star Trek 25th Anniversary. There's a way to play it on newer computers with OSX too (see link below). I like taking the old PowerBook on airplanes and playing games like this one. Very old school. This game is funny, challenging and even has pretty good graphics for its time. There's no dialog, but the sound effects and subtitles get the point made. The flying battles are tough, but just take a little practice. The game came on 5 floppy disks. Back in 1993 when I first got this game, I played it on my Macintosh II with System 6. Nowadays, I have a G4 with OS X 10.2 Jaguar. I tried running the installer off the floppies under OSX but it didn't work. So I copied all the installer files off each floppy into a folder and restarted my computer in OS 9. I then ran the installer and it worked fine. The Star Trek?: 25th Anniversary Game doesn't demand high system resources at all and plays fine with OS 9.2.2 or with OS X 10.2 running Classic. Its only requirement is to change the colors to 256. I recommend making your screen resolution as close to 640 x 480 as possible. (...). If you can get your hands on this game, it's worth playing, even though it's ten years old.

A Fantastic Game For Fans of The Original Series, December 31, 2005
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Star Trek 25th Anniversary (CD-ROM)
It's a lot of fun, you beam to planets and talk to the natives and try to find a way to get back home, this mean you will have to travel through Romulan Space to get home, and it will also require a trip through time itself. You play as Kirk, but you have two team members that join you. The team members can be chosen before you beam to the planet, different people do different things.
This game also has a very compelling story for a NES game; it will have you sucked in and feel like you are playing in a real TOS episode. I highly recommend getting this game, I beat it this morning, it only takes a few hours to beat, but man is it fun.
