The crew of the USS Enterprise become imprisoned on their ship when it is boarded by the Angel of Death, a being of supernatural abilities. When three ambassadors are killed, Kirk has to solve the mystery, or else the Enterprise will be trapped, motionless in space, indefinitely.

If you can accept the Vucan philosophy of IDIC than you can accept the various species that are included in this book. I love the murder mystery with a science fiction slant that is the basid for the story.
