Creative yet non-canonical look into Kirk and crew's past.,

A look into the Starfleet service records of the crew of the first Enterprise, including personal journal entries and glimpses into their childhoods, days at Starfleet Academy, and early careers before the Enterprise. Although much of the information presented within was contradicted by later movies, books, and television series, this book still is very well-written and *very* good reading.
