As a Star Trek fan overall - for a long time, I have always enjoyed and observed all the merchandising that has gone into the franchise for over 45 years. You'd be amazed at what the licensed and produced - even in the 60's and 70's!
Some of which I bought myself, seemed to have lost or seemed to have disappeared - a lot of it I remember actually buying myself - this book takes on all the details and the journey of the hundreds of various products that were available to buy - and they were all representing Star Trek in all of its forms. From books, to props, to toys, to magazine, to lunch boxes and hundreds of other item - you get to see all the amazing products (with great detail too!) It also gives you a perspective on prices and where they will/are to be approximately for the time of its publication. The collectors will love to see how much their items will go for (if they still have them) - in theory - but if you are a true fan/collector - you probably won't get rid of anything you have! Right? The book is well bound and the images are fantastic. Clear and colorful. Some broght back many fond memories for me! Definately worth the price and simply a good tool to have if you are a Star Trek or Sci-Fi collector. Get yourself a copy! 6-8-10

This book is not only informative, but entertaining. The history of Star Trek merchandising is here in this book. NOTE: This book has collectibles from the original Star Trek and the movies with the original cast; it has only a few from the other Start Trek series (TNG, DS9, etc.).

Made this Trekker Happy...,

This review is from: Star Trek The Collectibles (Paperback)
I've been looking for an updated collectibles guide for some time now when I stumbled upon this one and I'm VERY happy with it. It only covers the Original series of the show but Steve's book covers the first items produced back in the 60's all the way up to when this book was published. Filled with pictures of every type of item ever produced, collectors like myself appreciate both a written and visual look at these treasures. That along with the general two tier estimating pricing guide (Mint-in-box and Mint-out-of-box) made me feel like this was a great purchase that I'll go back to again and again.

ONLY Original Series collectibles. The title should reflect that.,

MORE proof that authors get their buddies to give their books 5 STARS. The book is crap. Incomplete. ONLY covers the ORIGINAL TOS merchandise, which should have been in the TITLE. If he truly showed his "demonstrative spirit and never ending love and devotion to Star Trek and what Gene Roddenberry's dream stands for", he would have called it what it is, maybe even THEN committing to a SERIES of books, if he was smart. But no. Total disappointment that the copyright is 2008, and ignores TNG, most movies, etc. This is crap, if you're looking for gift ideas, do NOT go here.

Somewhat disappointed in this book because 99% of what's in it is the "cereal box" genre items rather than the high quality props and memorabilia. Info is very limited on the items with little or no background data. No Master Replica items in this book either which makes it really incomplete for a decent collector. I got it for about $11 so it's not too bad but I would not have paid the full $25 for it. Still keeping an eye out for a real complete collectors book.

Best Book That I've Ever Seen On Star Trek Collectibles!,
This review is from: Star Trek The Collectibles (Paperback)
I have been collecting Star Trek items since I was a child and this is by far the best book on the subject of Star Trek collectibles. The book is organized very well and has some of the best photographs of hard to find Star Trek items that I have even seen. All I can say is EXCELLENT! Loved the book. I wish a book like this was around years ago. After reading, I am inclined to improve my collection by searching for items that I never knew existed. Great job!!

A Man on a Mission, a Star Trek Mission, to go where no writer has gone before!,
This review is from: Star Trek The Collectibles (Paperback)
This is a book of infinite depth and dimension, with an immeasurable wealth of knowledge and personal experience. This book reflects Steve's demonstrative spirit and never ending love and devotion to Star Trek and what Gene Roddenberry's dream stands for. It took me where I've never gone before! Well done Steve.
