So I got this game and guess what I could not get it going looks like they terminated the whole server and the site to where you could not play it anymore. So each time I tried to play the game it said the site had been terminated so O well.

HORRIBLE game! How can anyone like this game?,
This review is from: Star Trek: ConQuest Online (CD-ROM)
I suspect the board meeting for this game went something like this:Boss: Hmm. You know, We need money. Designer:Yeah... Boss: Hmm. Designer:Oh well, I'm going to go play a game called Sanctum - I just paid $40 for more digital cards! Later- Boss: What? You paid for digital cards? We can do this! Designer:Yeah, but I don't really have a plot for the game, a story, game design experience or a development team worth a troupe of trained monkeys. Boss: True...hmmmm... I know, We'll just slap "Star Trek" on it and someone will buy it! For those that do not know, Let me make you a bit more familiar with what type of game ConQuest On-Line is. ConQuest is an online strategy game that deals with digital pieces. You actually buy these pieces from "Starter" and "Booster" packs, much like collectable card games. You can then trade them with other players. Different pieces have different rarities and abilities, and the game is separated into rounds where you can play certain pieces and try to defeat your opponent. While this can be a great concept, After all, Sanctum by Digital Addition accomplished just that, this version of it has very serious flaws. 1. The logic in the game in terms of movement, times you can play pieces and move things as well as actually winning is all hokey and flawed. It makes very little sense. For a digital strategy game, this part is essential and I could overlook all other shortcomings if at heart it was a good logical game. 2. The digital pieces that you obtain are not customized. You simply have a picture of a miniature with most of them. No unique artwork like there is with Sanctum. 3. What Star Trek game would be incomplete without bugs? This game made up for that and took all of Voyager and Armada's bugs (Other Star Trek games which are actually good) Most of these bugs effect game logic. 4. The interface is clunky. Simple tasks are uneededly complex. 5. Horrible graphics. (Generally unneeded in this type of game, assuming the rest of the game is good.... which it isn't.) 6. The game is just plain boring. If you are a fan of collectable card games and enjoy strategy akin to chess, I strongly recommend that you check out Sanctum - a game that is worth your time and money and leave this game behind, nay, run from this game as quickly as you can... It is the worst one I have played this year.

A Poor Game- Activision at its Worst,

Aside from the fact that the game is painfully complex and boring, the thing that got me the most is that after you spend money to buy the game-- you have to spend MORE money to actually win against opponants. It's like buying a car, and then having to pay extra for the keys, it's simple exploitation. Activision ought to be ashamed of itself.

DO NOT BUY - YOU CANNOT PLAY,

Just to be clear, this WAS an online game.
As part of the online game, it also required secure trading with other players. That means it requires secure servers to be run by the company so that players have a way to interact. Those servers no longer exist. This game cannot be played and does not have an option to bypass the missing company servers. This game should no longer even be sold, its only value is as a dust collector or if you really like the picture on the box cover. Save your money and go buy a poster of Q if that is what you want. And for the record, even back when the game could be played, it sucked horribly and was not worth your time.

I highly suspect all of the 5 Star reviewers here are plants...
For one, they all say they love playing this game "After Homework" and use certain words in all caps. Another reason you can suspect they aren't real people is because they think this game deserves 5 stars. This game is terrible, horrible, and above all, expensive. Don't buy into the system, simply play something better. If you absolutely want to play a tactics game online, try Tactics Arena Online or Final Fantasy Tactics Realms (which are mostly free), or Sanctum (which is not free), or chess or poker or something else besides this game.

Fun and Addictive Game,

This game is GREAT! One I figured out the interface (there's a tutorial) I started playing games against people and I became really engrossed in the game. It isn't easy! There's two play levels, Basic and Advanced, but Advanced was easier for me to play than Basic. The whole setup of the game is that you are Q and you are trying to put another Q in "CheQ" in a chess-like game, using the Star Trek characters as pawns. It is also a collectible game, so if you don't have all the pieces you want, you can buy/trade with other players to get the ones you want. All in all, this game is HIGHLY addictive and I recommend it to fans of Star Trek AND strategy games!

This is the best Star Trek game yet. It's a lot of fun. You can trade the pieces with other players and the game is always different because of different strategy. I highly recommend this to any gamer.

THIS IS NOT JUST A GAME BUT A GAME COMMUNITY. The great thing about this is that the manufactures are always creating new pieces as expansion packs and working out the bugs on an on going basis. There are tournaments every month with PRIZES. Chat rooms exist for the players even a trivia room with an automated trivia bot. AWESOME GAME can't say enough about it.
