An interesting book, though highly non-"canonical",

This review is from: Star Trek: The Next Generation : Officers Manual (Star Trek RPG) (Paperback)
This book appears to have been created either when ST:TNG was in its infancy, or possibly even before it went on air. In any event, a lot of what is in this book has been contradicted by subsequent episodes, but it is still rather interesting. If you're a Treknophile and you have the chance to get this book, get it. It's chronology is all wrong, and some of the starship designs leave something to be desired, but all of its shortcomings notwithstanding, the book gives FASA's take on the early TNG universe, and has some interesting concpets in it, such as the passive EM field generator or the Medusan pilot aboard all Galaxy-class starships. Therefore, this out-of-print book is useful for the imagination.

This review is from: Star Trek: The Next Generation : Officers Manual (Star Trek RPG) (Paperback)
A short time after the publishing of this book my sister was told at a star trek convention that %105 of this manual was wrong by some one who works for paramount in the star trek industry. Oh-man are they right. In fact the only reason I keep it is because the made up ships are interesting to look at.
