Based on the Star Trek: Generations movie, the Star Trek: Generations game puts you in the positions of several of the film's characters, from Dr. Crusher to Jean-Luc Picard, in an attempt to stop Dr. Soran from laying waste to worlds. In his strategy guide, Blaine Pardoe provides several levels of help in the 12 "away missions" that make up the game. At the simplest level there are backgrounds to the characters and additional information on game elements that provide mild hints. Chapter 6 offers lessons in space combat without giving away the solutions to specific fights. The next level of help comes from the maps of each away mission. If you're seeking a greater level of guidance, though, each mission description contains a well-written log entry from the mission leader. There, you'll learn precisely what you have to do, but not necessarily how to do it. For total giveaways, you can always go to the step-by-step walkthroughs.
