Product Description

Editorial Review

This Monopoly game goes where no board game has gone before. Based on Star Trek: The Next Generation, it features squares with pictures of the Borg and Data instead of Park Place or Boardwalk. Only the four corner squares--Go, Free Parking, Go To Jail, and the Jail--remain from traditional Monopoly, though most game rules are essentially the same. For Trekkers and sci-fi enthusiasts, this is warp-drive Monopoly. Instead of buying properties, players make alliances with alien species. They move around the board as members of the Enterprise crew and pay their way with Gold Pressed Latinum bars--the 24th-century's idea of money. Both fans of Star Trek: The Next Generation and Monopoly-loving folk will enjoy this new twist on an old game. A full-color alien species guide is included. --Lee Strucker

From the Manufacturer

Play the classic Monopoly game with a 24th Century twist. Your objective is to buy time and knowledge from alien species and gain control of your opponent's alliances, starships and star bases.

This review is from: Star Trek Monopoly: The Next Generation Collector's Edition (Toy)
This version of Monopoly is just like the original monopoly game only the object is making alliances rather than buying properties. It has excellent pewter figures of the TNG crew. The only figure that I question is the Worf one, which is leaning backward as if he's trying to pull a Matrix move. The Community Chest and Chance are Captain's Log and Starfleet Transmission in this version, but they send you across the board and make you pay fines like the original. The only really annoying part of this game is that the color of the 100's and 1's is white for both. That makes it confusing, but it is manageable. Otherwise, the game has all of the classic loveable features with a Star Trek twist.
