4.0 out of 5 stars Lot's of Action, December 27, 2000
By
Rusty Weadon (High Point, NC, the Furniture Capital of the World.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Star Trek the Next Generation: War Drums (Paperback)
Worf fans, in particular, will enjoy this exciting action-packed adventure. Characterizations were on target. Ensign Ro also figures prominately in this one. It certainly held my interest throughout. Although there is a message, it is not preachy as some of the message-stories can tend to be. The only drawback,(and its not the book's fault), is that later developments cause some of the continuity to be a little off. An Enjoyable read- recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars An enjoyable, and exciting away team mission, September 2, 2003
This review is from: Star Trek the Next Generation: War Drums (Paperback)
The Enterprise is sent on a mission to discover what is behind the attacks on a federation colony by Klingons on a distant planet which is in a de-facto neutral zone between the Klingon and Romulan empires. Once there the Away team discovers a Klingon prisoner who has been beaten and starved, and is only a young teenager. Further invistigation uncovers several mysteries and dangers.

While I did find the story to be a good one, and espically enjoyed the action and suspense, there were several technical and logical errors on the part of some of the crew. Dianna's abilities were far less than what they should have been(inability to sense deception) and the Enterprises sensors should have been able to play a better part here and make it possible to solve this issue much quicker.
