5.0 out of 5 stars Great TNG Tricorder, December 11, 2008
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Star Trek the Next Generation Tricorder (Toy)
This is one of the best sort of toy model for anybody. Sadly though, when you puch in a command the realistic sounds will only last for about 5 secods until you read the fine print on the back. THE BATTERIES INCLUDED ARE FOR DEMO USE ONLY! If you do not replace the batteries. you will not be able to light up the tricorder screen or have the sounds continuous. Overal This product is a really fun model, toy,Holloween, and for any collector. NOTE: This product is so high priced because they were made in 1993 and these are the actual toys from 1993. Great Tricorder!

I saw this toy from the mid 1990s still being sold and had to add my own assessment.

I got the tricorder toy back in 1995 and was rather amazed at how accurate it looks to the real prop in the TV show. It has rather impressive sounds, working buttons and it even folds up nicely. I was a little disappointed at the simple lights but for a toy, it's very amazing. It even would make an excellent prop for a sci-fi convention or role-playing a character from Star Trek. The toy is very durable and will last for years, mine did.

Sent out the product in 2-3 days time and greatly appreciated getting it to me so quickly. No batteries inside product and greatly appreciated that because I did not have to worry about possible battery leakage that could have caused damage to the product.Did come with sealed batteries and when inserted everything works fine so far, stickers placed on item batteries removed and put in Display Case with other Star Trek Collection.
