Never before has a cardboard mask with eye-holes meant so much to so few. In addition to transforming yourself into a Tom Paris indistinguishable from the real thing, the mask can be propped up at your kitchen table, coffee table or even bedside. Imagine what conversations you can have with your very own cardboard Tom Paris face. The intimacy you can create is unlimited and to quote Baudrillard, "I hesitate to deposit money in a bank. I am afraid I shall never dare to take it out again. When you go to confession and entrust your sins to the safe-keeping of the priest, do you ever come back for them?" Buy it. And buy it not because you always never knew what the heart is capable of -but because every no one can't not have their's beat never again.

At times I wonder if Star Trek has had enough of an impact on the world, but it is after seeing this mask, that I can rest easy knowing that it truly has made a difference.

If you don't buy this, can you really say you're a Star Trek fan?

I must live near actor Robert Duncan McNeill because I tended to see him a lot at a local coffee shop. As a joke, I decided to purchase this mask and wear it there one day. I arrived at the shop and took a seat inside. When I saw Mr. McNeill approaching, I put on the mask and walked towards the doorway. I was able to time it so that I stepped into the door frame at the exact same moment as Mr. McNeill was about to enter.

He paused briefly to try and figure out what exactly he was looking at. Confused, he began to scratch his head. I did the same. When he cocked an eyebrow and placed his hand on his chin, I followed suit. He then began making a series of wild gestures to see if his "reflection" would react. Fortunately, I was able to continue the ruse by perfectly matching his movements (sticking out his tongue, making the swirly-finger "coo-coo" expression, throwing his arms in the air and dancing like an orangutan, etc.).

After a few moments, he stopped, presumably convinced that the coffee shop doorway had been transformed into a mirror but unsure as to how that would be possible. As we both looked at each other with a blank, slightly perplexed expression, I broke character and said, "FARRRRRRRRRRT!" in a low, gravely voice. Mr. McNeill jumped, shrieked, and immediately ran away.

I have not seen him at the coffee shop since.

Scaring Mr. McNeill away permanently was not my intention, but I feel that it serves as a testament to this mask's quality.

I bought this mask just so I can use its eyeless gaze scare the crap out of my wife, along with a William Shatner mask. It worked wonders.
