This review is from: Star Trek Phaser Mini Playset Innerspace Series (Toy)
I've always loved little playsets that transform from objects, and I've always liked Star Trek. So I looked this playset a lot. When you take it out of the box, it looks like the phaser from TNG, (not the hideous dust buster phaser) with the exception of some hinges and seams. It's authentically sized, so anyone can use it. It also has a belt clip. Then you open it up, and it makes a nifty little playset. The playset has this federation-y looking room on one half, and then a door opens and there, on the other side, lies a little cavern with two levels. The top level has this blue-gray platform thing. There is also a trapdoor, which leads to the lower level. On the lower level is a very dangerous looking trap, which your mini-figure falls into.

Speaking of mini-figures, the set comes with three. Word, Data, and Q. Q, however, looks somewhat generic due to the small size, so he could also just be a redshirt. Worf and data look pretty good for the size. Two things to watch out for: Worf's baldric is unpainted, and data sometimes gets a unibrow. The playset seems fairly durable, but I would not recommend heavy play with the playset, or the figures since this is a 17 year old toy. The few durability issues I've had with this line are about the figures. The figures' legs are held on with clips, but they work great so long as you don't go ripping them off. Also, be careful with dropping them. I dropped a figure and his head came off. However, due to the nature of the plastic used in these figures, it was a clean break, and was easily fixed with super glue. The figures are small enough to cause a choking hazard, so I wouldn't give this to kids under 5.

The price is relatively inexpensive, so there is no reason to not pick this up. This is just a great toy, and really fun. Buy it today.
