Got mine today and I have to say I'm enjoying it greatly. Although I had to do some clean up work in the battery compartment the overall tricorder worked great. After you flip the switch on the main screen lights up (unless you forgot to turn on the light switch that's behind the pop out scanner in front of the Tricorder)and there are three buttons that make different Tricorder sounds the 3rd sound sounding like you're playing pong on it and other lights to come on. The pop out scanner does nothing and is just a piece of plastic that does nothing. NOW if you want a more flashy and noisy tricorder you can buy electical kits online and with some modification to this Tricorder, you can transform this playmates Medical Tricorder into and more working one---that is if you want to spend hundreds of dollars in doing it. Other then that this playmates version of the Medical Tricorder is still a great collector's item.
