5.0 out of 5 stars Great paper, nice format, love it!
I admit to being wary of a morning paper in the format of a book, but I love the StarTribune kindle edition. I live in Sioux Falls, SD, and I subscribe to the Argus Leader, daily and weekends. 3.0 out of 5 stars Needs more content
I liked the layout, For the price of having the paper delivered, I would expect to receive more of the paper. Local news does not include the weather (a big deal in minnesota) I checked out the online addition and noticed additional content that I didn't receive. Also the comics are missing not a big deal but my kids ejoy reading them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great paper, nice format, love it!, July 28, 2009
This review is from: Star Tribune (Kindle Edition)
I admit to being wary of a morning paper in the format of a book, but I love the StarTribune kindle edition. I live in Sioux Falls, SD, and I subscribe to the Argus Leader, daily and weekends. I have also purchased a Saturday and Sunday StarTribune on a regular basis. While the Argus is strong on local reporting, it lacks a strong regional, national and international coverage. The StarTribune has always covered the news very well, but it is their coverage of the Twins, Vikings, and Wolves that cinches the deal. The Kindle edition brings all of my news, sports and Garrison Keillor to me every morning without fail. At 9.99 the Kindle subscription is cheaper than buying eight weekend papers a month. This alone should pay for my Kindle in about 30 years!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, October 3, 2009

I vastly prefer the Kindle version to the printed version. I receive all the local news, not just the metro section specific to my area of town. Great job.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Format, February 27, 2010

I grew up in Minnesota and still consider it "home" even though I haven't lived in the State in over 20 years. The Star-Trib has great formatting, the ease of navigation between sections and articles is terrific, and it's always waiting to be read first thing in the morning. It's great to get a home-town paper regardless of where I live.

4.0 out of 5 stars Its nice to know whats going on in the world again, November 30, 2009
This review is from: Star Tribune (Kindle Edition)
i grew up in the cities and now live in detroit lakes and i have missed getting twin cities news but now i have an affordable easy way to see what is going on around the world and in the metro you get so much more info out of the newspaper then you do from the local news stations this was a great switch and is now my favorite way to figure out what is going on

3.0 out of 5 stars Good news, but a little too expensive, December 11, 2010
This review is from: Star Tribune (Kindle Edition)
I really liked getting the daily paper in electronic form, however I really feel that the newspapers are just a little too expensive to keep. I admit, $9.99 per month isn't too outrageous but I can still read newspapers for free on my laptop! If this paper was a little cheaper, it might convince me to keep my subscription. I also subscribe to the Readers Digest and a few other magazines which are a lot less expensive (1.25/month) and those are well worth the read! Note to the newspapers - This media costs you basically nothing to distribute, and should be a little cheaper! Well see, I MAY resubscribe, however at this time I am not feeling the love.

Overall, I really enjoy having the paper delivered to my Kindle daily. It makes it very easy to flip from article to article and do searches. Also, you can highlight clips of the paper and send them to Facebook or Twitter with a comment. I'm only giving it 4 starts because you do get less content obviously (no coupons, comics, crossword puzzles, etc.) and occasionally you run into formatting errors.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's pretty basic., August 20, 2011

This e subscription is a pretty basic version of the paper. At about half the price of a paper subscription, you probably get about 75% of the content. No classifieds, no weather, no comics. I would have given it a higher rating if it had weather and on the Twins game recaps it would have more information, like say, the final score. And perhaps the next game time. It's kind of hit and miss there.

I'm hoping they will continue to work on it, as it stands right now, I'm on the fence as to whether I want to continue the subscription.

Pros: Having the paper there first thing in the morning on your Kindle, no paper mess.

Cons: No weather, lack of some basic information, format: i.e., some subheadings blend in with the body of the text.

4.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite parts of waking up my Kindle, February 24, 2011
This review is from: Star Tribune (Kindle Edition)
I subscribed to the Strib on my Kindle so I wouldn't have to keep recycling so much paper. The Kindle version is great. I work overnight shifts and get a new issue at about 4 A.M. every morning. Especially with the new software update, the newspaper format is very easy to navigate and find the stories I want to read.

The only things that would make the experience five-star would be the inclusion of Comics and sports boxscores.

A great purchase if you enjoy reading the newspaper.

4.0 out of 5 stars Adequate. . ., July 12, 2009
This review is from: Star Tribune (Kindle Edition)
No issues receiving my copy. As with most kindle editions some of the fluff pieces seem to be absent but the core is all there. As a Twin Cities resident it's an adequate electronic copy of one of the local papers with some local Twin Cities coverage.
