I'll tell you simply put,that except for the color difference of
the furniture this is a great set, my megos love it and my original
enterprise has been relegated to being another ship.
good times folks , good times.
as durable as the original in my opinion.

I can't tell you how many hours I spent in front of the tv with this playset recreating what I saw on the show. It was 1976 & as a 6 year old, I was in heaven. With the cloth shirted figures with their blue equipment just kept me out of my parents hair for hours on end.
The fact that this folded up & stowed away easy made them happy too.
Sure, it's vinyl and has stools & not chairs, but when you're 6, you could really care less. I find this a very good throwback to a simpler time when the Original Series was all we had to take us away from the world for an hour or so. The "transporter" is a neat feature for the time & the tv commercials made it look like magic. You really can't go wrong for nostalgia's sake on this toy. Be sure to get all the figures offered before this one disappears.

Wow. I haven't purchased this yet, but I had this toy when I was a kid. It was incredible and I must have spent hours with it. There are little screens that hang on the front viewscreen so you can change the scenery outside the ship. The transporter spins around and the figure disappears with the push of one of the buttons. He appears outside the ship through a hidden door. Sulu and Chekov had a little trouble sitting on the stools, but they fit under the console just fine. And Kirk belongs in that chair. I can't believe they made it again and I can't believe it's actually affordable. What a great toy.

I purchased this item for my son, who has Autism. His "thing" is Star Trek,the Original Series. He had this action playset years ago and used it so much that it eventually fell apart. He was devastated and I have been searching for years in an effort to find another one for him. He was ecstatic when he opened it on Christmas morning a year ago. He is older now and takes much better care of his possessions, so now, a year later, it's still in excellent condition. I highly recommend this toy, but it's really not for younger children. It's not made for rough handling and won't last long if not properly and gently handled.
