Book Description

July 1, 2010 2 and up Star Wars510L (What's this?)
From Anakin, Boba Fett, and C-3PO to X-Wings, Yoda, and Zam Wesell, no one can do the ABC's like STAR WARS!

Star Wars: ABC is an alphabetical adventure through the imaginative and intergalactic world of Star Wars featuring the names and images of the most popular characters, droids, spaceships, and creatures in this galaxy far, far away.

With artistic alliterative text that describes each image and emphasizes each letter, Star Wars: ABC is a completely new way to learn about the legendary story of Star Wars.

Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

This large-format alphabet board book contains movie stills and computer-generated images from the entire Star Wars franchise. Each capital letter mimics the accompanying image. For example, A (for Anakin) matches his blue lightsaber and the E (for Ewok) looks furry. Brief sentences use alliteration to further connect the letter to the subject ("Luke is a legendary Jedi") sometimes stretching to do so ("Zam is a zigzagging shapeshifter"). Still, the large and glossy images will be attention-grabbing for the youngest Star Wars fans. All ages.

5.0 out of 5 stars Anakin to Zam September 25, 2010
Format:Board book
"Star Wars ABC" is educational and fun for the youngest of readers. The format is the most remarkable aspect of the title; this is a board book. The odds are with this book that it could survive a direct assault by a Star Destroyer . . . so there's little chance that the hands of a youngster will do any harm to the cardboard pages. As the title indicates, the book is a Star Wars themed alphabet book. The book runs from A to Z as each page features a new letter and a corresponding character, species, droid or starship. The chosen word is always used in a simple sentence like, "Yoda teachers young Jedi students" and "IG-88 is a dangerous droid." Detail was not lost on the creators as the featured letters are infused with visual elements that were drawn from the selected subjects. For example, the letter 'H' is wearing Han Solo's belt and the 'W' is as furry as the featured Wookiee. As a review, the back cover shows the entire alphabet. The scope covers the entire sage from Queen Amidala in Episode I to Episode VI's Ewoks. Perfect for youngsters, the pages are done in such a way that there are two textures. Each illustration is a blending of the regular page surface along with an area that's smooth and shiny. These dual textures invite touching. All in all, youngling readers will enjoy learning the galactic basic alphabet with "Star Wars ABC."

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for any Star Wars fan with young kids October 14, 2010
Format:Board book|Amazon Verified Purchase
When reading books to my 15 month old son each night, this is a nice break from the typical board books. It is BIG, sturdy and has great pictures. My son enjoys having me read this book and I recommend it to any Star Wars fan who wants to introduce the Galaxy Far Far Away to their son or daughter.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT book for ABC's March 10, 2011
Format:Board book
My daughter is 3 and although she knew her alphabet very young, really knowing each letter took her awhile. She saw this book and had to have it. She nailed all of her letters almost instantly! 3 times through the book and she finally had it! I don't know WHY?! She's not into Star Wars. She's never seen it. She sees the stuff some of the boys in her preschool class are into it so maybe that peaked her interest. But she will now point to each letter and knows it perfectly. And she will tell you... B is for Boba Fett, Y is for Yoda, K is for the Kaminoans. It's hilarious. It totally worked for us.

5.0 out of 5 stars Who wouldn't love Star Wars ABCs!?
Cute book. Every Star Wars fans with kids should have this. It's much bigger than your average board book, but I guess they needed the extra room for the awesome photos.
