I agree with the previous review. This figure is not as well done as the Obi Wan figure and its hand is poorly formed to hold a lightsaber. It's a decent likeness of the cartoon Anakin but has the same limits to movement as Obi Wan, given its long costume. That hasn't kept my 4-year-old from getting hours of enjoyment out of it, however, which is why I give it a higher rating overall.

This figure has the same problem as Obi Wan with the projectile weapon provided. Like Obi Wan's, it remains in place when fired. The rope is nice but there is no easy way to clamp it and of course Anakin, with his hands, cannot grasp it, so it's of limited use. My son tosses it aside when he digs through his figures and has completely ignored the malfunctioning missile. I have yet to see it in place on Anakin's shoulder. And of course, like Obi Wan's backpack missile, it did not appear in the film.

My six-year old recently saved up his money to purchase anakin. He opened the packaging without me, so if there were instructions, I never saw them. However, the toy was easy to figure out. We didn't have any problem with the fire action weapon. When you gently push down (not in) on the back of the blue fire, it shoots out quickly a foot or so. He loves this part. The lightsaber doesn't stay in his hand well, unless you turn it so the "thumb groves" go over anakin's thumb. Then it stays quite well. I thought the rope thing would do more (like hook to the fire weapon), but all we could figure out was to put both handles in anakin's hand and let him hang from it. The handles stay in his hands well. He hung the whole time I held him that way. My son loves star wars and legos, but many legos are not durable enough for his rough play, so I'm glad to have discovered this group of action figures. He seems very pleased with them...

Hasbro, what were you thinking?!?!?!? Anakin is one of the must have action figure from THE CLONE WARS. The face is fairly accurate (although a little angrier than on TV), but even my 5 year old daughter is disappointed by the lack of posability. The arms are OK, but the shoulders are limited by the shoulder armor. The legs only have movement at the hips. The knees and feet are stiff, just like the Obiwan and Dooku figures. If the clones get 17 points of articulation, why not these guys? Even Ahsoka and Ventress have fully articulated legs and their extremities are toothpicks by comparison.

It comes with a lightsaber of course, but also a weapon that fires an energy bolt. It uses the standard spring loaded firing mechanism from all the missile weapons in the series. Unfortunately, it's too heavy and drops after a few disappointing inches. There's also a rope cable thingy which was was never played with and left on carpet Christmas evening. These were in my opinion useless additions and wouldn't have been missed. Better to have invested the money on developing plastic knee joints.

My daughter is trying to con me into the Battle of Bo'marr battle pack because Anakin's legs bend.

Better find the Legacy version if you can.
