This is basically a replica for a great low price. These things will last, I promise you, and they look much better then the electronic lightsabers.

These "basic" lightsabers:

Retract into the handle.

Lock in place so it only opens when you press the activation switch.

Clip to your belt, pocket, pants, ect. with ease.

Basic's are better. Trust me.

i think this is cool. it is much more realalistic then the electric one since the electric one has part of the blade sticking out. thiss one doesnt and this one is much more fun to play with because it is strong. the electric one can break so when you fight you have to hit soft and thats not fun

this toy is exellent!!!! It is very durable and good for dueling.If you want to carry it around you can push in the blade and lock it in and hang it on your belt or pants. This is definatly better than the electric kind because the blade goes all the way into the handle. This lightsaber looks and feels real in your hands. May the Force be with you and be careful the sith are not to be underestimated!!!!!!

I did not realize that this toy does not light up. When the product review stated "on/off switch" I assumed it did. My 6-yr old son likes it, but it will not be much fun in the dark while trick-or-treating since it will not be able to be seen.

This is an okay toy, but I guess in all the rave reviews for it, I missed the fact that it has no light source. My son was disappointed, but still plays with it from time to time.

I bought this toy the day star wars came out and I fell in love with it. First of all the hilt is stiled just like Anakins lightsaber from Return of the Sith to the Empire Strikes back. It has a belt clip that you can hook on your belt, the blade goes all the way into the hilt, and it is lots of fun to fool around with. This a great toy to keep you on your heels for a while if you are saving up for an FX lightsaber. I have a couple comments. I think the hilt should be a little bigger and the blade a little longer. I also think that it woul be cool if the blade glowed in the dark. Overall I think this a fantastic toy and if you have time run out to the store and buy one or two.

I got this for Christmas, and it is awesome. It is alot better for dueling because the blade is thick because no light has to shine through. The lightsaber also has a clip to put it on you belt, and the blade goes all the way in and latches, so when you are walking through the Jedi Temple the blade doesn't come out. AWESOME!!!!!

Couldn't find them (the simple, non-battery operated light saber) anywhere in Columbus - everyone was sold out! We bought my son the more expensive battery operated one because it was the only one available at the store, even though we went specifically to get him the cheaper light saber like his friend's. Found the cheaper version online and purchased it so my son and husband could "fight" together. Love it. Loved the price, too.

I was pleased that this product has stood up over time. I bought it a year ago and it is still holding together. (I have four kids!) So it is well worth the price you pay for it.

I bought this lightsaber a few days ago and it is sweeet! The blade goes all the way down, unlike the electronic one. It can clip to your pants and the blade is much more durable than the electronic saber. There is a lock to keep the blade inside the hilt. You activate the lock by pushing down on the blade when its in the hilt. To take out the blade, you simply slide down the button and flick your wrist. The hilt is Anakin's hilt. If you have enough money, buy this saber!
