Product Description

Experience the chaos of battle as you fight thegreatest wars in the Star Wars universe. Product InformationStar Wars Battlefront is an action/shooter game that gives fans and gamers theopportunity to re-live and participate in all of the classic Star Wars battleslike never before. Players can select one of a number of different soldiertypes jump into any vehicle man any turret on the battlefront and conquer thegalaxy pla-by-pla online with their friends or offline in a variety ofsingle player modes. Single player modes include "Instant Action""Galactic Conquest" and the story-based "HistoricalCampaigns" mode that lets gamers experience all of the epic Star Warsbattles from Episodes I-VI fighting from the perspective of each of the fourfactions within the game.Product HighlightsDuring the course of Star Wars Battlefront you will be able to play four sidesdepending on the mission or map which you have chosen. Throughout the game youwill be able to assume the guises of Rebel Alliance Galactic Empire RepublicClone Army and Separatist Battle Droids. As soon as you start a map you willhave to make a selection from one of the two sides each having five separateclasses ranging from soldiers pilots (who are able to "repair"vehicles so why not call them “engineers?”) snipers or grenadiers in oneform or another each with his specific weapon and abilities. Any of theavailable classes are able to drive or fly vehicles so you do not need to haveany specific training or abilities to do so; just stand under or near a vehicleand press the action key to climb in. One of the interesting abilities for someof the classes is the jetpack which will either let you fly around for fiveseconds (after which gravity takes its course but you can take off againimmediately) or allow you to perform some sort of double jump depending on themap you are playing. Each of the 16 available maps is based on one of the Star Wars movies: Geonosisand Ka

5.0 out of 5 stars A Classic, From Any Aspect March 28, 2008
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This game is lots of fun. Gameplay is smooth and the DVD quality is very high. The game still has support from the manufacturer. There is an avid on-line community which loves to play this game, even though it debuted several years ago. I think it has to do with a combination of the Star Wars mythology and how much fun this game is to play. I originally bought this PC game a few years ago in the CD-ROM version. I now have the DVD version on my laptop. My son and I go online together and play this game. Sometimes we are on the same side, sometimes not, but we've had a lot of laughs playing this game. He gets a kick out of "whacking" the old man! Some people may consider this violent but we treat it like a virtual paintball game (there is no animated bloodshed).

Highly recommended! Best $10 you can spend on a game.

5.0 out of 5 stars A really fun game July 24, 2009
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
(written by my 16 year old son)
Okay, straight to the point:
Pros: A variety of levels. You can play on Hoth, Jabba's Palace, Geonosis, anywhere in the Star Wars triology (except Coursant and the Death Star).

A variety of vehicles-You can be anything from an ATAT to an X-wing. You can even pilot enemy ships, and in ships with more than one crew member, you can easily change your position in the ship (such as in the Republic gunships, you can be a pilot, co-pilot, gunner, etc)

It's just a fun game. I mean, come on, who doesn't want to run around blasting their way through the galaxy?

Cons:
Repetitive. No matter what war you're playing in (clone wars or glactic civil war), the object is always the same: take out all the enemy's reinforcements. While the game is enjoyable, and this is essentialy the game, I would like some variations.

Graphic options don't make a needle's eye of a difference. The game had all my graphics on high by default, and it was making the game run really slowly, so I changed all the graphics to low, and it didn't make a difference at all, except the computer wasn't running the game slowly.

Overall: I think that this game is definetley worth buying. Period.

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I love this video game. its alot of fun and really intersting, because you get to play as a droid, rebell, clone- or stormtrooper.
it has really nice graphics, too. You can also fly and drive a viriaty of classic star wars vehicles, including AT-AT, AT-ST, AT-TE, STAP, X-Wing, Delta 7 Jedi starfighter, republic gunships, droid starfighters, tie fighters, snowspeeders, etc..........really much fun!!!!
The shipping was very fast and game was in prefect condition.
I am very satsified with this pc-game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nothing less than fantastic! April 27, 2009
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Star Wars was and still is a big hit in theatres, toys and games.
I bought this game from Game Stop and when I popped in the CD, the music of Star Wars started to played: you are now in control of many, many things to make you ruler of the galaxy!

Characters in game consist of: CIS--Super Battle Droid, Assault Droid, Pilot Droid, Droid Sniper and the Destroyer Droid. Rebel Alliance--Rebel Soldier, Rebel Vanguard, Rebel Pilot, Wookiee Smuggler and Rebel Marksman. Galactic Empire--Stormtrooper, Shock Trooper, Imperial Pilot, Scout Trooper and Dark Trooper. Republic--Clone Trooper, Arc Trooper, Clone Pilot, Clone Sharpshooter and Jet Trooper.
The graphics are amazing! The pistols, rifles, turrets and cannons sound exactly like the ones in the movies. It even plays the music to the episode you are playing in!
Throw grenades, time bombs and charges. Use your reconnaissance droid when you are a sniper to see where the enemy is and call orbital strikes on them. Use your Dark or Jet Trooper to get around the battlefield quickly.
Get into a whole array of vehicles from Ep. 1 to Ep. 6, (The game was made a year before Episode three came out, so that is not in the game). There is an amazing amount of planets/places you can go, from Hoth, Endor, Naboo and Besbin (Cloud City), just to name a few.
You can have things from Instant Action to Campaign, everything you need to dominate the galaxy.
A long time ago, in a place far, far away...

Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
Star Wars Battlefront allows you to experience the Star Wars Universe from an entirely different perspective. You've perhaps fought as a Jedi, or a Fighter Pilot, but Battlefront takes you to the trenches of the galactic struggle of the Republic vs. the Empire or the Rebellion vs. the Empire on all sides of the conflict.

In the Clone Wars, you can fight as a member of the Clone army as a foot soldier, marksman, artillery trooper or commando. Each station has it's own choice of weaponry specific to the character. Or you can choose to fight as a droid. The droid option offers the player the expanded choice of experiencing game play as not only a foot soldier, but also as a super battle droid or Droideka. (For proper names and a complete listing of options, consult Wookieepedia).

Additionally, the player is given the option of fighting in the Civil War of the first three films either on the side of the Rebellion or the empire. You can fight as a Rebel Pilot, foot soldier, vanguard (the guys with the big white helmets) an artillery gunner or a marksman. If you fight for the empire, you can fight as a stormtrooper, Scout trooper, demolitions trooper, AT-ST pilot, and more. Each with its own unique set of weapons and skills.

There are numerous theaters from Tatooine to Naboo to Hoth. Each planet offers it's own unique terrain and obstacles. There are also a number of vehicles and weapons that the player can commandeer, however as of this writing I have not figured out how to do so.

There are also appearances by the luminaries of the Jedi order and Sith. Darth Vader, Mace Windu, and Luke Skywalker all appear in the game...usually just before the player is killed in my humble experience.

Such a great game. I played this a lot as a kid. In the game you basically run around capturing command posts which can be taken by either team at any given time. Read more
