4.0 out of 5 stars Good game, but it has flaws., December 31, 2011
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Star Wars Battlefront (CD-ROM)
Let me establish this right off - I'm not a Star Wars fanboy. That said, I do like this game, but I'm willing to accept its flaws.

The game follows the movies over two campaigns, showing battles from episodes I, II, IV, V, and VI (Episode III wasn't released at the time), as well as a few battles that were cut from the movies but not the Star Wars mythos (I had to look that up). However, if you want to actually WIN these battles and progress in the campaign instead of just playing the missions as they went in the movies, you'll have to skip a lot of the stuff like taking out AT-ATs on Hoth. Also, the Jedi are major game-breakers, between being able to reflect ANY weapon (including missiles) and only being vulnerable to being knocked off platforms or having vehicles landed on them. The graphics are smooth, but the ragdoll physics are turned up more than a bit when a grenade goes off near you and you roll for half a mile before your body lands and you get the opportunity to respawn.

It's worth the buy, but you have to be willing to accept some flaws in the gameplay.
