Story
Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes lets Star Wars fans young and old live out the sweeping galactic adventures of the Clone Wars. For the first time ever, players can fight as their favorite Jedi and clone troopers from the preeminent animated television series – from familiar faces like Anakin Skywalker to new heroes like Clone Captain Rex. Built around two-player cooperative action, the accessible controls and family-friendly gameplay bring Star Wars fans across generations together like never before to fight the evil Separatists and restore peace to the galaxy.

Gameplay
Gameplay in Star Wars the Clone Wars: Republic Heroes is mission-based. Players can choose to approach the action as either a Jedi or a clone class character. Playing as a Jedi you have access to eight playable characters, and as a clone you play as one of a group of clones. The game was developed with co-op play in mind, which means players can more or less count on never fighting alone, which is a good thing considering the hordes of battle droids and other enemies you will face. The game also features a puzzle-solving gameplay component, as well as an upgrade system based on the collection of "Force Orbs" scattered throughout the game environment.

Weapons and Combat
Keeping with the games' user friendly approach, the control scheme has been designed with Jedi character's lightsaber and force powers, as well as clone characters firing trigger accessible from a single input source. Because of the difference in the character classes weapons, combat differs depending on the class chosen. Due to their reliance on the their lightsabers, Jedi will mostly engage enemies at close range, although force power attacks can allow for more distance from targets. In addition, utilizing Jedi powers at point blank range players are able to engage in "droidjacking," which allows a Jedi to take control of a droid's weapons system and other abilities. On the other hand, clone character combat relies more on firepower, utilizing a variety of blaster type weapons and thermal grenades, although clones are able to acquire heavier weapons, such as miniguns and rocket launchers as the game progresses. Because of the projectile nature of these weapons clone character combat can be fought as a variety of distances.

3.0 out of 5 stars Could have been better... December 3, 2014

In all honesty, this game kinda irritates me. The first level and time to kill the giant robot seems so ridiculously drawn out - almost even impossible. It took me about six tries before I could bring the sucker down. The second/third levels with the troopers are pretty decent but it's not at all the hype I thought it was going to be. Plus I lost my PSP memory card so I don't even play it anymore because I have to start all over again every single time! And the first level I absolutely disdain! Are there any good Star Wars games out there where you can design your own Jedi character (male or female) or even a Sith (and I mean like, do I want a Togruta, Twi'lek, human, Nautolan, etc) and actually have some decent fights?

Kinda hard to go wrong with anything Star Wars. Both sons loved the Clone Wars series and so buying this was a pretty safe bet. Didn't hear any complaints, and so it avoided my 6yr old's dreaded "poopie game" rating.

Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
The Good: Great for fans of the series, decent graphics, nice audio, fun driving sections

The Bad: Way to easy, poor platforming, stupid camera, idiotic AI, short

The new Star Wars: The Clone Wars series is a cartoon/CGI spin-off of the Clone Wars era of Star Wars complete with 20's Anakin. While the cartoon series is something to be desired the game is the same way. The story is about well...the Clone Wars and ummm yeah...you know I know nothing about the cartoon series except the fact that I did watch the Clone Wars cartoon movie. I don't know what the big deal was since it was mediocre at best with a strange art style, but enough of that. The best part about Republic Heroes is the co-op and the fact that you play as many Star Wars heroes. You start out playing as Anakin and Snips, while branching off playing as republic soldiers, Obi-Wan, and even Aayla Sekura (hot). The bad part is they all play the same using mindless saber hacking (mash square forever), using the force push and jumping. You can build a combo bar that lets you increase your saber throw power, but it's no big deal. Playing as soldiers lets you shoot and toss grenades and shoot rocket launchers, but it's all pretty much the same.

You can "Droid Jack" which I found completely useless since you can't move these droids when they are jacked, all you can do is use their "ability" while staying still. This varies by droid since some can shoot, some stomp etc. The levels tend to be pretty short lasting about 10-15 each, but I haven't gotten to the thing that kills the game. It's the jumping. Yes, since the game has pretty nicely large environments the game stays linear with platforms that have that "sticky" jumping thing going on where you jump and the stick to it.

The game was delivered in tact and functioned as expected. My son beat the whole game in a day and a half. Need a game that is a little more challenging!
