5.0 out of 5 stars Fun activity book for kids and fans, June 25, 2011
This review is from: The Star Wars Craft Book (Paperback)
Length:: 1:21 Mins

This is an amusing Star Wars book. The crafts inside look like spoof characters for stop motion animation.

The book's mainly for kids, and the Star Wars fans of course. So the crafts are designed in such a way that everyone can create them. There aren't much sewing to be done. Most items needed are household items, like buttons, cloth, cotton. The instructions are simple and easy to follow.

There are crafts for amusing yourself, like the finger puppets. Home decor crafts where you can build an Ewok flower vase. Holiday crafts which are holiday decorations. Nature and Science craft where you can construct an AT-AT Herb Garden. The last chapter's on designing stuff you can wear, like a R2-D2 Beanie, T-shirts or even a blanket.

This is a fun book for kids and fans alike.

The love of a Star Wars fan for the SW universe knows no bounds. For those who want to channel that obsession into crafting, The Star Wars Craft Book is your answer. It's filled with a variety of projects from simple to medium-hard, and covers the films and even Clone Wars episodes, so it can be used by a variety of ages and crafting abilities. The directions are clear and clever and the photos are of good quality, making it easy to get inspired. My favorite crafts are: Cantina Character Puppets, Admiral "Sackbar" Puppet (made with a paper sack), Cuddly Bantha (which could be a good footstool if you upped the specs), and the At-At Herb Garden. There are some really simple projects that small children can do, and there are some more advanced item for adults. The appendix has several patterns to help it turn out right. All in all a fun way to explore your Star Wars love.

5.0 out of 5 stars Crafts for all levels of ability & levels of Star Wars love, April 7, 2011
This review is from: The Star Wars Craft Book (Paperback)
Over 40 crafts & craft ideas are in this book. There are crafts for all ages & abilities.

Finger puppets, plush, holiday crafts, home decor, even the pattern for the much-coveted-on-the-web R2-D2 beanie.

Full of puns & Star Wars references, just as it should be. Instructions are clear and required materials aren't impossible to find which is definitely appreciated.

As the author says: May the glue gun be with you!

When my son saw this he couldn't wait to get started on something! Neither could I! We've made a bunch of things already. The directions are well done, but also free-form enough that you can be creative.

A must for any Star Wars fan!!

I have no kids (although I do have a young niece) and no sewing skills so why would I pick up The Star Wars Craft Book? Well, simply, I'm a fan of all things Star Wars. After looking through this book I found projects of all difficulty levels, many of which require no sewing skills whatsoever. Numerous fun projects are available whatever your skill set or age. Even the sewing projects look like they could be done by someone with only basic knowledge. I see a lot of projects that could be fun with groups of kids. I think it would be a valuable resource for libraries doing Star Wars events and I plan to let my local branch know about this book before their next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for the Star Wars fans in your family!, April 10, 2011

My boys are obsessed with all things Star Wars. I bought this book to give me ideas of things to do with the boys during spring break. The crafts were so straight foward and doable that we didn't even wait until spring break to start. Most of the projects can be done with craft materials you probably have at home already. Great buy!

I was a little disappointed that most projects required sewing. But, I was happy to see that they all had easy, accessible materials.

Ha! I bought this book as a Christmas gift for a good friend, hopefully she will enjoy it as much as I did. There are some cute ideas here, and I like that so many of them are kid-friendly.
