I purchased this item for a young friend in order to pass on the skill of developing the art of saving as a habit. I find it quite suitable for this purpose because it combines an admirable movie character in a savings bank, a collector's item. The durable material ensures that my little friend will have it for a long time. The only drawback is that it a wee bit small and will quickly fill up.

Its really well done and looks fantastic in my office. The Sword was a little bent when I received it in the mail but I was able to straiten it out with minor effort.

My old son LOVES Star Wars so this bank is perfect for him. Not only can he put his coins in it but he play with it too. By only complaint about it is that within 20 minutes of receiving it he manages to break off the lightsaber. However, I think a little superglue will fix it and he honestly doesn't seem to notice one way or the other. All he cares about is that he has a Darth Vader bank. My favorite thing about it is that it's not ceramic so he can drop it down the stairs and it won't shatter!

Darth Vader arrived and my son opened it on Chrismas morning. The bank looks nice but the lightsaber was broken. The handle of the lightsaber was broken. We could glue it back on but we wanted this as a collector's item. The shipper should use more care or better packing material. Other reviewers mentioned the same issue. It is safe to say, the problem remains unresolved.

Its not a toy you play with, but gave as a gift to two 8 year old boys and they loved the item.. their eyes were like half dollars when they opened the gift.. just have to remember that his lazor is in the cardboard attached to Darth.. well worth the purchase.

This bank arrived broken. Darth Vader is not as menacing when one of his arms is completely fallen off. I could tell whatever glue they used to attach his arm is very cheap. I used some super glue to fix it, but quite disappointing. I would have returned it, but its too near Christmas. The other issue is that the bank space is very limited. More of a novelty than an actual bank.

Great collector item, and it's very durable and a good size. You put the money in the helmet and the lightsaber is pretty tough, it's never come off and still sits nicely on my son's shelf (which is saying a lot!)
